"Brianna! Are you ready?" I shouted as I tapped my feet, impatiently.
This chick had just woken me up, one hour ago saying that we have to get ready on time, and that it would be impolite not to do so, and now look who is half an hour late?
Any Guesses? Brianna Roberts.
"One minute...I just can't find my heels."
Heels? Yes, you heard her right. This woman is unbelievable. I mean first of all she is pregnant and second of all, we are on a camp. I mean have you ever seen anyone climb mountains in heels?
No. But I know there is no use in arguing with her.
"Which one?"
"The hot pink one, you got me last year."
"It's in your drawer, doofus."
"Oh! Here, I got it." Brie said as she soon came out the door.
"You know we are going river rafting today.." I said as I stared at her heels, in an attempt to knock some sense, in that little brain of hers.
"So?"
"Nevermind."
"Ever heard of something called reaching on time?" Kyle said as he handed over the life jackets to us.
"Sorry, where is Nate?" I asked as my eyes searched the place for him, but all for nothing.
"He met some old friend of his, he'll be back in some time."
Old friend? Which friend of Nate could be here? I know all of his friends and I was pretty sure about not seeing any of their names, on the resort list.
So, who could he be talking about?
"Ok...Brie why aren't you wearing your life jacket?" I asked when I saw Brie sitting on the chair, with her legs resting on the table in front, eating from a packet of chips. God, this girl!
"I am not gonna do this stupid river rafting thing."
"And umm..Why is that?" I asked as I zipped up my life jacket.
"Just in case you forgot, I am three months pregnant."
"And yet you roam around in heels longer than your face." Kyle remarked snidely, making me chuckle. Brie gave both of us death glares, and when I say death glares, I mean real, fatal ones. If she stares for a bit longer like this, I think my head will explode.
"What? Don't look at me. He said it."
"Whatever." She said it as she threw the packet of chips, in the dustbin. Correct me if I am wrong, hadn't she started eating it like a minute ago. Since she became pregnant, Brie's eating style has become one like that of a Sumo Wrestler or something. I mean literally, one should enter her in an eating competition or something.
"Hey guys..." Nate said as he walked upto us wearing a huge smile on his face. Kind of like that cat in Alice in Wonderland. What was it called? Cheshire? I don't know.
"Where had you been?" I asked as he took the life jacket from Kyle and came towards me.
"No where...Hey do you guys mind if one more person joins us?"
"No..Not really."
"Ok, wait a minute. I will just bring him over here."
"Do you have any clue, who is this guy?" I asked looking expectantly at Kyle. But he simply shook his head. Remind me again, why is he my friend?
Just kidding.
Soon Nate came back, but this time with a tall, burly figure next to him. I strained my eyes in attempt to get a glimpse at the face of this 'friend' of his but couldn't due to the distance between us.
