"That's it over there." I said pointing over to Brie's house. Her parents had moved to Paris last summer, when they both got pretty high-paying jobs as a sculptor over there. They begged her to come along with them, but she simply refused as she loved her life here to much to let go off. So it was only her, living in a house clearly made for a family.
Kyle pulled over, stopped the engine, and got off the car. I followed suit, and we headed towards her door. I rang the doorbell, hoping that Brie would answer it, but she didn't. We tried a few more times, but to no avail. Nobody answered the door. I was pretty sure that Brie was at her house since I could see her car parked in her garage.
"Is she at home?" I asked Kyle, who seemed to be in his spy mode, as he was noticing the whole house, taking mental notes in his mind.
"I guess there's only one way to find out." He said, looking over to Brie's window, which was open, with a smirk on his face. No way! there's no way in hell that I'm going to climb up a house or something. Those things only look good in movies, not in reality unless you are some kind of athlete which I clearly wasn't . I thought hard for a minute thinking for alternative ways to get into her house, when suddenly I remembered!
"No, there's not only one way." I said pulling Kyle, who had already headed off to the pipe near the window. I then went over to her garden, and after few minutes of searching pulled her spare key out of the mud.
"See, I told you not the only way!" I said, literally shoving the key into his face. I then inserted the key into the lock and opened the door to find an empty living room.
"Brie! it's Cameron! Are you in here?!" I shouted as Kyle and I went over to her kitchen searching for her. We then decided to head upstairs, and check whether she was there. After endlessly searching for twenty minutes, we resolved that she probably wasn't at home. So Kyle said that it was best to leave now, but I really needed to freshen up, and so told Kyle to go ahead and bring the car to the front till I go to the washroom and lock the house. He agreed and soon left.
I then made my descend downstairs, and then to the washroom. My phone suddenly, started vibrating. Hoping it was Brie, I removed it in a hysterical way from my pocket only to see that it was Nate texting me. He was worried about where I was as he had searched for me in the whole school but for no use. I quickly started typing in my reply about what had happenned when out of the blue, my leg hit something hard. I looked down assuming it was probably just a piece of furniture, but shrieked when my eyes met the most agonizing site ever. It was Brie.
She was lying there on the bathroom floor, completely helpless. Her face had become pale, and her eyes were closed shut. She had the same clothes on which she wore three days ago, but it appeared a bit more soiled and loose to her then it was before. I couldn't understand what was going on. I couldn't swallow the fact that my bestfriend was lying unconscious in her bathroom floor. Before I could react to this however, my phone again started ringing, but this time around it was Kyle. I told him what happened and he replied that he was on his way to the house.
I then picked Brie up by her arms, as Kyle ran towards us signalling me to let go of her. I accepted timidly, as right now I was to weak to counter anything. He picked her up in his arms and ran to the car. I too, tried to keep up as I headed out of the house, locked it, and then carried my body which seemed alot heavier to the car. Kyle quickly turned on the engine, and we headed off to the hospital.

"Cameron how's Brie? Is she fine? I came here as soon as I got Kyle's message." I looked up to see Nate' s face which was covered with concern.
"I don't know, they haven't said anything yet." I responded weakly, as I had nothing left in me anymore. I couldn't even bare the mere thought of Brie leaving me. She was my bestfriend, I needed her, more than anything in my life. Nate seemed to understand that as he sat down beside me, carressing my back gently and placing a comforting kiss on my forehead. I rested my head on his shouders, wiping the tears that had welled up in my eyes.
"Are you here for Brianna Roberts?" I heard a sweet-voiced nurse ask me, and nodded my head impulsively.
"Yeah, we're here for her. How is she?" Nate inquired, but didn't stop stroking my back.
"She is doing better. Not completely stable herself, but I'm glad to tell you that the baby is completely stable and healthy. We have put Brianna on some medication right now, so she isn't ready for any visitors yet, but she will be in some time." I listened the nurse in utter disbelief. This was not happenning.
"What baby are you talking about? Brie's not pregnant. You must have mistaken her wih someone else. She was the one who came in a few houes ago, after lunch. Please check again." I replied back, urging the nurse to change what she had said. But of course she wouldn't.
"No Maam. I am a hundred percent sure of the patient I am talking about being Brianna. I'm sorry for the news, I will inform you when she can have visitors, though." She responded, and then went back into the ward.
"Brie is pregnant? When did this happen? Does Rob know?" Nate asked me, looking for answers. But unfortunately, for me and him, I didn't have any.
"I don't know. She never told me about this. Didn't even give me a hint." I replied, and put my head in my hands. I didn't know what to feel. I mean should I be happy that my bestfriend is alive, or sad that she is pregnant with the baby of a guy who wouldn't give a damn about her. I just didn't know.
"Should I call Rob and tell him. I mean he does have a right to know." Nate said, as he removed his hand off my back and intertwined it with my hand instead.
"No, not yet. I mean we are not even sure who the father is right now. And I don't think Brie could handle seeing Rob as of yet. We need to give her some time."
"Yeah, you are right. I'm gonna go get something to eat, do you wanna come along?"
"No. I think I should stay, you know just in case something happens. You go ahead." I said heavily. I needed to talk to Brie as soon as I could, and if I stayed back, I would soon get to see her.
"Okay. Stay right here, I will get something for you too. And call me if something important comes up. Stay Strong Cameron, Brie needs her bestfriend, as much as you do." Nate said as he pecked me on my cheeks, and went off. Stay Strong, these were some pretty effective words he told me. I repeated these words, as I felt my eyes closing and I soon drifted off to sleep after a long, long day. I tried to remain awake but for no use, as my body was too tired to listen to me.
