The truth, might sting, it might hurt, but it always remains what makes us who we are.
The truth, is what I am going to tell each one of them. They deserve to know.
"So, I want everyone to listen, cause I am not going to repeat this." I said as I sat down with a bottle of water, on my bed.
All of them, came one by one, and sat down next to me. Except of Nate. He chose to stand.
"Ok..So, it was my junior year, and I didn't have any friends, except of Brie. I was nerdy and very shy back then, so I became, the easy target, for everyone at school. I was bullied and tortured everyday and honestly couldn't bare it more. I was insecure. One day, after school, I had a huge fight with Brie, and I felt like my whole world broke down, because my only friend hated me. Then I saw Charlie, next to his bike. He had a cigarette in his hand, and when he saw me crying, he came to comfort me.
I was shocked that the school jock , the bad boy of the school even knew the name of the school nerd.
We started to hang out, alot more and often after that, and when we did it felt as if we were the only ones in the world. He made me feel good about myself. He made me come out of my shell, and then you know the classic, opposites attract thing. The good girl fell for the bad boy.
But this time the bad boy didn't. He always used me and mistreated me after I told him I loved him. He stole my first kiss.
After he left me, I thought I had changed for good. But he didn't. I turned into this rebel, who wouldn't attend any classes, who would spray paint walls, who would go clubbing every night, illegally. I insulted everyone near me, and even those who cared.
My world falled apart in front of my eyes, and I couldn't stop it. I reached to the extent of getting arrested. I still remember calling Brie, that day, thinking why the hell would she help me? But she did. I started to hang out with her again, and then you asked me out. And you know the rest."
I opened the bottle and took a sip, from it, as I felt a tear roll down my cheeks. Brie wiped it before I could, and carressed my back.
"Why didn't you tell me all this?"
Nate said, as he folded his arms, across his chest.
"I was going too, but I realised that why should I bring my past into all of this. I thought I was ready to move on. And I did. A bit.."
"Cameron..I feel like such a douche-bag.. " Nate said as he sat down on the bed, next to me and held my hand.
"Why? What did you do?"
" I just invited and then defended my girlfriend's ex over her. I supported him, hell, I worshipped this guy, who deserves to be dead by now."
"It's fine." I said as, I squeezed his hand.
"I don't know about you guys, but I feel like a hero now..." Kyle said as he dramatically straightened his shirt and lifted his collar. That boy!
"And why is that?" Brie asked as she rolled her eyes at his dum and terrible acting skills.
"Didn't you see? I just beat the shit out of the guy. I mean if Nate wouldn't have come earlier, you guys would have to call the ambulance.."
"Ya right. We would have to call it for you, not him. You could hardly throw a punch at him." Nate said, causing all of us to chuckle.
