Monday came sooner than later and I was off to my first class at 8am. I missed orientation so I have to ask around to find my classrooms.

Everyone was friendly enough and before I knew it I was going to my last class of the day.

I sit down in an empty seat in the middle of the room. I hate sitting too far in the front and too far in the back.

"This seat taken babe?" I hear a voice say. No, this cannot be happening right now. I tried to forget about him all weekend.

I look up and see the person I was dreading to see, Harry. He takes a seat and leans into me.

"Miss me?" He asks, his scent was all I could smell as he was so close to me. "No actually I didn't." I tell him but I know I was lying to myself.

"Okay class, pair up! We are covering the phases of mitosis for this first lab. Every station is prepped and ready to go. Let's ease our way into this lab as it runs for the whole year. I am professor Dunbar but please call me Miles." Our professor yells out loud.

"Instructions are on the sheet as follows. Please don't hesitate to ask if you're confused. I just want to see what level everyone is at before we start kicking things into high gear." He adds as he starts passing out papers.

"Looks like you're stuck with me for the whole year babe." Harry whispers in my ear and pulls his chair closer to mine.

I lean away from him as I collect the paper from Miles. "Harry, nice to have you in this class." He nods at him.

"Nice to be here Miles." He tells him and takes a sheet for himself as well. I'm shook at how well they know each other.

"Ms. Nelson right? You're lucky to have Harry as your partner, he's a very bright student." Miles tells me.

All I can do is smile at him and nod. He must have hit his head pretty hard if he thinks Harry is bright.

"Let's get started then shall we?" Harry asks and starts filling out the sheet. He grabs the first slide and places it in the microscope.

He looks at it for not even a second and says, "It's anaphase." He starts jotting this down and pushes the microscope towards me.

I look into the eyepiece and it takes me awhile but he's right, it is anaphase. I switch the slide and then write the answer down.

I take a look at the slide and I pause, I am confused on the answer so I push it towards him.

"It's prophase." He says after a second of looking at it. How does he know it right away?

"You took this lab already didn't you?" I ask him as he changes the slides. He shakes his head.

"I was supposed to take it last year but my schedule was so full. I had 8 classes and they couldn't fit it in so I had to wait till this year." He informs me.

"8 classes? How is that possible? They only let you take 5 at a time and that's already pushing it." I caught him in his lie.

"I took 8 A Levels and passed all of them. The university let me take in the extra load." He shrugs.

WHAT? I could only handle 5 A-Levels and I struggled with them to the point where I wanted to give up.

"You're a genius then." I say to him. He shrugs, "I don't like being labelled like that. My brain just gets it."

I nod at him as he looks into the microscope, "Anaphase." I write down what he says and then switch the slide.

I might as well let him finish the whole worksheet. This class is going to be a breeze. "Your turn." He says and pushes the microscope to me.
