(Last Chapter A/N will be at the end of this chapter)
I walked to the kitchen with my bag in my hand. "Maria you sure about this?" Melinda asked as I looked at her before nodding. It's already been a month, and even Rodrick hasn't said a word to me since that day. Every day it was like hell. I would see him the halls. In church. We would pass one another and he wouldn't speak to me. He would just give me this dead glare before walking off to where ever. I sat down with my bag now on the counter as Aiden looked at me with sad eyes. "Come on little guy, you know you would do the same thing, if it was your family fighting for the grips of life." I say with a small smile as i pushed back some of his brown hair before it fell back in the same place. I then kissed his forehead before hearing Kiba walking down the hallway with Jim behind him. "I'll take your stuff. Jim will be taking us to the train, and you know what happens after that," He reminds me as I nod before getting up and walking over to Melinda and bringing her into a hug. "Thank you for taking me into your family, when mine couldn't provide for me." I say as she sniffs and hugs me tightly not wanting to let go.
I kissed the side of her neck and pulled away as I walked over to Jim who smiled and kissed my forehead and walked us out. I heard Aiden run after us as he grabbed Jim by the hand. "I want to come see Maria off," He says as Jim looks at Melinda who nods and watches as Aiden follows us and runs over to the truck. The small red truck that Jim owned. Kiba and I got in the back pit where my bag was in. I jumped in and watched as Aiden got in the passenger's seat while his dad slid into the driver's seat and started up the truck. I rested my arm onto the truck ledge while Kiba did the same in his human form as we pulled out of the driveway. I looked at the front porch where Melinda stood as she waved to me. I smiled and gave her a small wave back as we went down the road.
I saw Greg and his brothers getting out of their parents van as they watched us pass by. Rodrick looked at me while he watched as I was staring at Kiba who just held my hand that was on my lap. "It's his fault, he had his chance. And now we're leaving." Kiba reminded me as I nod and kept looking towards the side of the road. We passed many places that I visited with Rodrick and my friends who came to visit. We turned into a Seven Eleven as Jim got out. "Hey we're going to get some gas. We have enough time before the train gets here, and I'm gonna get some food for you guys to eat. I know it's going to be a long journey ahead." he says before Aiden and him left to gas station while I looked down. I heard loud music right next to us as I looked up to see Kendrick and Sally getting out of the car.
"Hey you guys," I say as they looked up to see me. "Maria! Wow what are you doing in the back and who's that?" Sally asked as he smacked my hand and looked at Kiba as I smiled. "My cousin Kiba, we're heading out. Might be the last time you guys see me ever again" I say as Sally frowned. "Wait what?" Kendrick looks at me. "Your leaving, but school's not even done" he says as I shrugged. "You would do the same thing if your family is dying back at home," I say as they nodded.
"Well I hope you come back home, we want to graduate with you," Kendrick says as I nod while they leave to the station. "Your leaving good friends behind Maria, but they still have hope your coming back. I love that," Kiba says as I smiled as Jim came back with Aiden holding the white bags of food before handing it to Kiba who took it from him and patted his head. "Thanks Aiden" he smiles as Aiden smiles and gets into the truck as his dad pumps gas in. "We're going to miss you kid, you know that?" He says as I nodded and crawled over to him. "I'll come back to you guys when I finish what I need to do, you have my word" I say as he smiles and kisses my forehead. "Don't worry I believe you, dork" He says as he chuckles and watches as I go back to my corner. He then finished off pumping the gas and put it back in the holster before he got back into the truck and continued to drive towards the train station that was not far out of Plainview.
