I could slap Smitty Ray silly right now as he's on his knee with a beautiful ring offered to me.
"Blaise I love you more than anything in this world and I'm down here on my knees a humble man asking the sweetest guy in the world to marry me," Smitty Ray began. I can't believe what's frickin' happening right now.
"Blaise you're all I could ever hope for in a partner. You're sweet and kind and you take such good care of me. I don't know what I ever did to get you as mine but I pray that I never lose you. I love all that you are and I will support all that you can be," Smitty Ray continues and try as I might I can't stop the water works.
"And I promise to forever finance your chocolate chip cookie addiction so please say yes," Smitty Ray begs with the cutest pout ever and how could I ever say no to that?
"Yes," I whisper through my tears of joy. Smitty Ray's parents, Ky, Bobby Ray and Theron whom Bobby Ray proposed to at Christmas all cheered and congratulated us before we went out to dinner to celebrate.
God, I've never been happier in my life. I thought as I stare lovingly at my sexy as hell fiancé.
I wish my mom was here with me to celebrate my engagement. I absently trace my tattoo and smile to myself as I rest my head against Smitty Ray's chest on our way home. Bobby Ray gave me and Smitty Ray a hug and congratulated us one more time before heading back to his home. Smitty Ray and I live about ten minutes away so it wasn't out of Bobby Ray's way to give us a ride.
Smitty Ray ran a bubble bath for us and we just soaked while listening to love songs. When the water cooled he dried us both up and laid me out on our bed and smiles wickedly as he ensures I got extra incentive to actually marry him-as if I need any other reason.
God he's good at making love. Making me feel loved and cherished as if I'm the most beautiful man in the world.
"Blaise, I know not having your mom here with you sucks but when we're doing the planning if you want we can reserve a seat at both the ceremony and the reception for her," Smitty Ray says while gathering me in his arms after our love making.
"Oh Smitty!" I exclaim, gosh he is just so sweet. "Thank you baby. I'd love that."
"And I have been keeping up to date with what's going on with your father. I know that he's been through some counseling and I have sent him a letter asking for your hand before I popped the question," Smitty Ray continues making my eyes go wide with a gasp.
"You did?" I ask through fresh tears.
"Yea all I got back was a bunch of flowers with a congratulations card so I figured that's all the blessing he is willing to offer though I would have asked you regardless," Smitty Ray informs me and I smile up at him.
"God, you're too good to be true Smitty Ray," I whisper in wonder at how amazing this man is that's holding me like I'm the most important thing in his life.
"You have such a beautiful heart," I place my palm over that spot on his chest and felt the steady beating of that organ.
"I fall in love with you even more every time you show me how much bigger your heart can be and how much you love me," I turn fully so that we're nose to nose and chest to chest.
"I love you so much that I can't even begin to put into words the way you make me feel when you smile at me. I'm so grateful that you took a chance on us. On me," I nuzzle him a bit and he smiles, eyes alight with love for me.
"Sometimes I can hardly believe that we've come so far and you've made me the happiest man in the world by wanting to claim me as your husband. You really are a goldmine baby. My goldmine." Smitty Ray smiles wider and kisses me so sweetly I fell like a teenager again.
"And you're my diamond Blaise." He whispers and presses his lips to my forehead.
My fiancé wraps me up in his arms once more. I say a prayer thanking God for placing Smitty Ray in my life, my newfound family with his parents and Ky and Theron and one for my mother's soul then I drift off to sleep with a smile on my face and my heart full of love.
I'm gonna be flying free with my love by my side and there's nothing in the world that's better than that.
