1. Detention on the first day

I really hate school.

So hey my name is Laila Rivers i'm 17 years old about to turn 18 on April 21. I have one brother who's 20 and he's kinda the man of the house since that little shit called my father left us for another family. Anyway He goes to Cartho University (A/N: I don't know if this is real I just came up with it.) and he is currently studying to be a lawyer.

Oh I also live with my mom who is the quirkiest woman I know. Anyways back to the school topic, today is the first day of school and today is August 1st. Most people start school in September but ours just has to start in August.

"Laila breakfast!" my mother calls out. In response I jump out of bed and rush to the kitchen. What? I love food.

"Good morning love" mom says to me.

"Morning." I grumble

Once I'm done eating I go and get ready then drive to school. Once I get there I see Jenny my best friend sucking faces with her boyfriend kale. Who is a total tool, I have tried telling Jenny but she doesn't believe me. Once jenny is gone all he does is flirt with me and takes selfies on his phone.

I walk over to her and I pull them apart because who wants to see them making out.

"Hey Laila I was busy!" Jenny says

"I'm sure you were, now lets go to class or else we're gonna be late."

She crosses her arms and then smirks at me. " So L, how was your summer with Jim?"

Jim was this guy she set me up with short story I tried to be nice to him but he was just so annoying. Plus he didn't even know my name he kept calling me lily.

" Ended It." I say to her

"WHAT?!"

"He was a pain in my behind."

Jenny was about to keep screaming at me but I bumped into someone. Oh would you look at that it's none other than Bimbo Blaire.

'Watch where you're going ugly!" her screeching voice says to me. I just turn to her " Sorry boo but I could wipe 90% of that fake face with a kleenex. Want me to demonstrate?" Her face turns red " Well at least I have a dad!"

Oh she did not just go there. "Don't you ever get tired of being a bitch Blaire?"

" A bitch is a female dog, dogs pee on trees, trees are apart of nature and nature is beautiful." She smiles feeling confident about herself.

"Sorry but not all nature is beautiful I mean look what mother nature created." I say back pointing at her face. Everyone around us laughs and I check my watch it's 9:20 jenny and I are late.

"I would love to hear more of your nonsense Blaire but I have to get to class so bye." Then I start to run to the classroom and Mrs. Belvid opens the door.

"Welcome ladies glad to see you're late as usual." She says to us and I just give her a grin and then go to sit down in the back since every other seat is taken.

"Now care to tell me why?" She asks

"Sorry miss I had to go insult Bimbo Blaire wanna know what I said." I say back and people turn to me and give me high fives.

"Well you can tell everyone what you said in detention."

"Wha-But."

"Detention Laila."

"Fine." then she starts talking about some project blah blah blah. All I heard was my name being called.

"Laila Rivers and Liam Crawford."

Who's Liam?

Wait what are we doing? "Miss B. what are we doing again I wasn't listening."

She shakes her head. " I hate my job." she says to herself then gives me paper.

It says 'You and your partner will be doing a report on Shakespeare and his life story. then you will Have to act out his play Romeo and Juliet.'

"You Laila are Juliet and Liam over there is Romeo." She tells me

I turn to where Liam is he's just on his phone with his hood over his face so I can't make out anything other than his blonde hair.

Who is this dude how come I have never seen him before?

I walk over to his desk and pull up a chair. "Hey." He looks up from his phone and looks at me for a minute then leaves class. Out of nowhere too he just gets up and leaves what a weirdo.

I mean he was pretty cute, he had this blonde hair that looked so soft and these blue eyes. Oh and that jawline dang, how do I not know him.

He did not seem to be in a very good mood though. Sucks for him cause we have a project to do and i'm not about to get a bad grade.

Once school was over I go to detention then go home and sleep till tomorrow, With Liam lingering in my mind.
