Chapter 8

“Are you ready kids?”

"Aye Aye Captin!"

I can't hear you!!

“AYE AYE CAPTIN!!!”

Ohh... Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

“SpongeBob Squarepants!!!”

“AASHNI, JUST SHUT UP” screamed Tara.

“Nope, not happening” I say smugly eating.

“Absorbant and yellow and porous is he”

"SpongeBob Squarepants!"

“If nautical nonsense be something you wish”

"SpongeBob Squarepants!"

“WHY THE HELL NOT” She yells.

“It’s Spongebob Squarepants” I say like that answers everything, which to me it does.

“Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish”

“Gee, thanks for making that so clear” Tara saidS.

I can just feel her rolling her eyes in sarcasm.

“You’re Welcome Tara!” I retort.

"SpongeBob Squarepants!"

“READY”

“SpongeBob Squarepants

SpongeBob Squarepants

SpongeBob Squarepants”

“SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!!!! AH AHH AH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHH...”

I practically scream along with the theme song, purposely trying to piss Tara off.“Different day, same shit” she said, covering her head with her pillow, going back to sleep. Let me fill you in, ‘this’ happens every weekend. I watch my SpongeBob early morning  every  weekend. The only time I don’t mind waking up earlier than noon. SpongeBob is always worth my time.

When Tara finally wakes up, she takes one look at me and says “You are one fucking mess”. I glance down, “I see nothing wrong with this”. “Of course you don’t” Tara says sarcastically while eating her toast and drinking her “protein shake”. I look down at my breakfast; there is nothing wrong with Lucky charms, just because I’m not boring like her, eating her toast and drinking a protein shake. I mean, how does one eat toast without Nutella? It should be considered a sin for human nature. “I heard that.” I said. “You were supposed to.” She retorts, eating her toast away.

“Are you going to see your parents today?” I ask Tara. “Yeah, you know how my parents are, they act as though they haven’t seen me in years, although it’s been what, a week tops?  Tara says. I only smile, I sometimes wish I was as close to my parents as Sunni and Tara are, but I’m just a disappointment in their eyes. I apparently didn’t amount to anything.  Well, anything worth telling anyways.

“Ash?” Tara asks. “Yeah?”  I was asking you before you zoned off, if you wanted to come? You know my parents love you and we all know how much you love mom’s cooking.” Tara said.

“Nah, thanks Tara, but me and Arnav are going to hang out today, we haven’t seen each other much these days” I say.

“It’s okay babes, make sure to give your stud of a brother my affections” Tara says winking.

“I think I just threw up a little” I said disgusted.

Speaking of Arnav, he’s calling. I answer, “hey bro, what’s up?”
