Chapter 2
Run in with the Butt face
Oh damn. That hurt like a bitch. Yup that’s going to leave a mark.
“Couldn’t you watch where you were going?” a deep voice said clearly agitated.
I stand up quickly which almost causes me to fall back down. Man, whiplashes sucks. I come face to face with him. Actually Face to chest. He’s quite a bit taller than me. Oh whatever! This ruins the whole seriousness of the situation. “Excuse me?!” I screech back. Heck No. I’ve already had a bad morning.
He cringes at the squeakiness in my voice. “Well thanks, you’re excused. I just hope my ears don’t give out now” was his catty reply.“Ha-ha, very funny. You do know it takes two to tango right? But I can totally understand if you don’t. I mean, it shows how much you really know” I said in return.
“I like how you think you know me, that’s very hot” he says smirking at me.
What is with this guy? He didn’t even flinch at the insult to his intelligence. He’s clearly asking for me to punch him.
“What is wrong with you? You think this is funny”? I say angrily.
“Ahh, there you go thinking you know me again. I think this is very amusing, as so is your ‘outfit’ “he says emphasizing ‘outfit’. “Huh?” I say totally confused.
“Umm that must be some slumber party you’re headed too” He says indicating my outfit.
Huh? What is this guy on? I look down and glance at myself. I blush instantly. Oh my damn. I’m arguing with some strange dude looking like a homeless person off the streets.
Aashni, be calm. Don’t say something you’re going to regret. Do not add fuel to the fire. Be the bigger person …maybe if you don’t say anything and ignore him he’ll just go away. Yeah that’ll work! That’s what I’m going to do!
I close my eyes and begin a countdown. 3, 2, 1…. I slowly open them, hoping my wish came true.
There standing there this douche is still smirking at me. There went my brilliant plan sarcasm lacing my thoughts. I’ve had enough of this guy already. Be the bigger person my ass.
“You know what?” I poke his chest. “You’re a butt face”
“Ooh you got me, I’m wounded.” he says placing a hand over his heart mockingly.
“Seriously babe you got to do better than that.” he says smirking.
This ass got jokes now. I clench my jaw tight. I’ve never been good at controlling my short temper.
Just as I am about to reply back….I felt a tug at the bottom of my pants.
I look down my anger disappearing once I look at the most adorable face that has graced the planet.
“Aunty Ash?” says Nadia, Sunni’s adorable niece.
“Yes sweetheart?” I say now smiling, my anger forgotten.
“Can’t find mommy.” she says pouting her lips, her eyes watering.
Awe, no one can say no to that! I stretch out my hand and she grabs onto it almost instantly.
“C’mon hon, I’ll help you find your mommy” I say smiling at her cuteness.
After searching Sunni’s sister in law we finally found her in the kitchen.
I walk in with Nadia in tow. “Umm, Dee? You seem to have forgotten something…” I say smiling revealing Nadia.
“Oh so that’s where you’ve been!” Deepika exclaims. “Thanks Ash, I owe you one.” Dee says holding her angelic daughter in her arms.
I nod in response. Hmm I kind of get a sense I’ve forgotten something….what was it? Oh! I totally ditched that Butt face out there. Good riddance I think in distaste. Hmm but that’s not it. It’s something WAY more important than that ass. What was it? OH MY DAMN. IM FINISHED!
Ha there it is!
I walk slowly to the door to the dressing room. I open it slowly and slip inside quickly hoping that they are both in a good mood. They might let me off, just maybe. Oh what am I kidding? Tara’s mood earlier sealed my fate. Well, remember guys, my Harry Potter Collector’s Edition Book Set is underneath the couch, for good safety measures.
