A day like all others. Bored, being broke as fuck because I'm too lazy to get some money from my bank accounts. Today the electricity company cut my electricity service cause I had to pay it the last 3 months. No TV, no Internet service, no nothing that has to do with electricity. My mom is on her way with Casey. They're " visiting ". They are just checking if I'm alive.
" You need to buy a new lamp. This one won't turn on, it's broken. " Caeey told when she tried to open the kitchen light. She came alone, mom had some job to do.
" The lamp is fine. The bill was unpaid so. " I replied, walking towards the fridge and grabbed a beer.
" Are you serious? "
" Yeap. " I sat down, she stood at the doorway looking at me.
" Is this your life now Shannon?! " she raised her voice.
" Don't start. " I took a sip from my beer.
" What do you mean don't start?! I'm your big sister and I'm worried! " she yelled now, letting her purse at the table. " What are you doing Shannon?! Let me help you. " she continued.
" I don't need your help. " I kept my voice down, taking small sips from my beer. I knew she was right.
" You don't need my help? Really?! " she made some angry movements with her hands. " You couldn't even pay your own bills! " she walked towards my way slowly, waiting for my answer. An answer that she'll never get. " You stopped YouTube. You quit every job you had. " she pulled a chair from the table and sat down. I looked at her, tears threatening to leave my eyes. " Talk to me. I know what is this about and I'm here for you to talk. " she touched my hand with hers.
" There's no particular reason Casey. " I told her, my voice low and raspy cause I had this huge urge to breakdown right into my sister's hands.
" There is Shannon and you know it. " she rubbed the back of my hand with the pad of her thumb. " You can't leave in denial of the rest of your life. " she looked at me, lowering her position to look right into my eyes. " It's been 2 years. 2 and a half to be exact. " she said referring to her.
" Don't Casey. " I begged her, losing the power to keep the tears from streaming down my eyes. " This isn't about her. "
" Then why you don't even say her name? Why did you never talked with anyone about this? " I took my hand from hers to wipe my tears. " Then why are you crying now? " she questioned again. " Talk to me about Cari. "
" Say what Casey?! " I snapped, standing up and slammed my palms on the flat surface of the table. " Say what?! " I looked at her. " She was my life! " I grabbed the beer bottle and threw it in the sink, making it shatter into pieces because of the distance. " My life! " I pointed at my chest with my right index finger.
" I know Shannon, don't you think I know that?! " she also stood up. " You have told me that numerous times. "
" Then what do you expect me to say?! She was my life, I couldn't imagine my life without her. I still can't! " I tugged my hair with my hands, walking around my kitchen. " She dumbed me. She left me Casey. She left me here, all alone. Alone and miserable. She chose something else over than me! " I screamed at her, she sat down again and sighed. I walked over to the cabinets and opened the one that was closer to the fridge, to grab the damned magazine that was inside. I took it in my hands and threw it on the table for Casey to see. It was already open on a particular page. " The uprising singer Cari Fletcher was caught with a blonge girl, having dinner at a famous restaurant in London. " I told her what the headline was saying, without having to read it. I already knew it, I had read it so many times. " Are they friends or something more than that? " I continued, Casey held the magazine in her arms.
