"How are you feeling? Better?" Jaha smiled, as him and Ali joined us.

"Better?" Raven scoffed, "This is incredible!"

Ali nodded, "And you, Aiden?"

"Mhm, definitely! I can't remember a time I haven't been happier than I am now!"

"Is that so? Because, we're sensing some resistance from you."

"Resistance? You both have given me a word where I don't have to feel strong pain or anything, why the hell would I resist?"

"The city is filling up with the two of you in it, but we need you in it 100%... Raven is all in, so why aren't you? What's holding you back from this?"

"It's Octavia, isn't it." Raven scoffed, letting a sly smile come across her face.

Ali's eyes widened, because she could see my thoughts and feelings. "It is her. Clarke is up there too, because you wish to see her again."

"Let's just get focused." Jaha interrupted, "We need to steal Raven for a bit. Why don't you go join Bellamy on the village raid?"

****

We arrived at the village by dark, and the rain was sticking to our clothes and skin. The others went into stealth mode and I just casually followed behind them. The village seemed empty, there were no fires or any sign of movement.

"Maybe no one is home." Monroe stated.

"Oh, I'm sure they're here." I smirked, feeling Ali's presence in my mind.

"Spread out, keep your eyes open." Bellamy ordered, and we all followed.

We all made our way in different directions, scanning every inch of the area. We heard a horse from the other side of the village with a figure on top. Octavia. As though on instinct, I made my way towards her.

"Stop." Ali ordered, but I didn't listen.

"Octavia!" I shouted, getting closer.

"Get back!" She warned, "It's a trap!"

I was so close to her, but a blast took my feet out from under me and landed me on my back. My lungs began to fill with air that I couldn't inhale. I was coughing and gasping for any type of fresh air that I could get, but I failed. Slowly, I began to crawl to get out of the smoke but I could not find my way out. So, I did it, I let her all the way in. I thought about Ali, and the city of light, and how painless it is. Just as I was laying down onto the ground, I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and drag me clear out of the smoke.

"Don't do it, Aiden. Just let go, and you can breath!" Ali demanded, feeling panicked.

I looked away from Ali as I inhaled the clean air and finally met eyes with my hero. Octavia. Just as a smile grew onto her face, grounders swarmed around us and tied our hands.

"We'll let the Commander deal with them."

****

We were dragged into the room, right before the commander. They began to speak in their language, one thaT I didn't understand.

"Aiden?" A familiar voice spoke. Clarke. "Octavia? What is this?"

"I call upon the armies of the 12 clans." Lexa began, "To march onto Arkadia. Not to attack, but to contain. We will create a border and allow them to take out their leadership before we do anything."

"And if they cross the border?"

Lexa made eye contact with Clarke, and then the rest of us before replying, "Any of them caught outside the border will be given a kill order."

They then put Clarke, Octavia, and myself into a room. It was very nice, and royal.

"No wonder you wanted to stay." I scoffed.

"Stop." Clarke warned, trying to meet my eyes, "Are you okay?"

"Fine." I replied.

"Okay, so, what do we do?" Octavia interrupted.

"I need to go talk to Lexa!"

"Again?" I said sternly, "Why do you keep choosing her, Clarke? She left us at Mount Weather... TO DIE. Now, she has a kill order on us? Why is it always her? Why not YOUR people, huh? Why not ME?"

"Aiden, the 12 clans want a war. Lexa is trying to hold them off for as long as she can!"

"Just go, Clarke. It's what you're best at." I snapped.

With a small nod, she left. For a moment, I felt Ali take more control over me. But, instead of shutting down the pain, she chose to let it out and direct it at Clarke. She was winning and I was slowly letting her take over. She had one barricade left.

"Are you okay?" Octavia asked, placing a hand on my arm.

"Yeah, I'm okay." I smirked, "I've never been better."
