Carlisle's Point of View
-
Tomorrow was the night of the auction.
To be completely honest, I was a little nervous.
I knew that there was a lot more risk with a mission like this. It never really mattered to me if I made it back alive, but this time, it was different.
I was going to get married soon and I'd be damned if I were to die before then.
Cristiano and I walked around, watching as every one of my men loaded bullets into magazines. One after another until large duffel bags were filled with a few loaded guns.
"You know, we're going to have the Feds up our asses after this, right?" Angelo said as he joined his brothers.
I nodded. "I buy the ones I can and I shoot the ones I can't."
"I know you love Stella but is starting a whole war for her really worth it?" Angelo asked.
"It's not just about her. She's mine and if you fuck with something that's mine, I'm going to take you out," I replied curtly.
"Let's hope this all goes well. Hopefully none of us die tomorrow night."

Stella's Point of View
I watched Carlisle load bullets into the chamber of his pistol. Tonight was the night.
My emotions were in overdrive. I was deathly afraid for Carlisle. What if he didn't come back?
Carlisle was tense as well, I could feel it.
"Carlisle, please promise me that you'll-"
"Stella, I will come back. I promise."
I took a deep breath as he walked over to where I sat on the bed.
He wrapped me in his arms tightly, I could feel his rapid heartbeat against my skin.
"When you come back, let's get married tomorrow," I said with a grin.
"Anything for you." He kissed my forehead. "Remember, don't leave this goddamn house. I mean it, no matter what happens, don't leave. My men are guarding this place and they'll bring you back in."
I nodded and looked into his eyes; his beautiful blue orbs. I kissed the corner of his mouth, down to his neck.
"Stella, I have to go finalize planning."
I continued to lay soft kisses against his skin down to his bare collarbones. I brought my head back up to his ear. "Fuck me before you go."
"They can do the planning shit themselves."
He kissed my lips as we fell against the bed.

I kissed Carlisle goodbye and was very tempted to not let him leave my embrace.
After the front door closed behind him, I knew that I might not ever see him again. The thought petrified me.
I went straight to the bar counter in the living room and reached over it. I wrapped my hand around a bottle of Jack and popped of the top, taking a large swig of it.
