“No, let me finish,” she said as she saw the curiosity in our dumb-founded faces, “You five are reincarnations of 5 heroes in the past,”

“Why five? We’re only four.” I asked,

“Well, the fifth one hasn’t been found yet, now back to the prophecy,” she replied as my curiosity was shortly extinguished and more questions came to me. Who could be the fifth? “The five heroes, Aston, Freohr, Neya, Haeka, and Iana; the five saviors of the ancient world.

“In those days, humans and magical beings lived peacefully together; until evil stepped in and clouded the mind of man by a name that cannot be uttered in this or in any other language. Fate had something in store for the people of the ancient world: the human Aston, and the four magical beings Freohr, Neya and Haeka, and Iana” she said turning to us.

“Together, they became the saviors of the ancient world. They raised an army and a campaign to defeat the evil sorcerer that befouled the once beautiful land of the Magical Realm. The Army of light defended their rightful ruler, Jaminare and fought to justify the land and return it to its former splendor. But the evil sorcerer was said to be possessed by such evil spirits and fiends that no longer was he controlling his powers and his body but those inside of him. With that much power, he raised an army of his own and waged war upon the beings of the world. Every creature of the forest, every man and elf, every inhabitant of the Magical realm was roused to fight. All the sorcerers and wizards, all the dwarves, every one fought for their freedom from the evil ruler that reigned. The sorcerer clouded the judgment of some and he got for himself an army of men and elves and dwarves and fiends and everything, all under his control. He under estimated the heroes and their power, leading him to his defeat and thus, light prevailed, but for the price of blood. A great many people died and sacrificed themselves for the triumph, including their very own queen. They needed a fitful ruler and jailed the heroes as their own lieges. Everything went on smoothly from thereon. But, remember, evil can not be vanquished permanently. Word has it; a witch has stumbled upon the secrets of the evil sorcerer and was possessed by the same spirits that possessed him. She is now raising the army of darkness once more. You five are here to stop them, I dunno how, so don’t ask me.” She paused for a bit and I know by the looks on the faces of my companions, our brains are whirring with tons of questions.

“What about the fifth one?” Heather blabbed out, her brain hitting overdrive. She’s scary when she gets like that. You see, Heather’s got a talking problem. Sometimes, she just can’t stop talking. “Where is he? And are you really sure we are the reincarnations; I mean there are a lot of magical beings, right? What if we really are then, How do we fit in the prophecy?” she finished her tirade and mom smiled. She motioned us to look at the withered flower and said, “every magical family has one, when the flower withers, it means evil is up to something and the Leya, the sign of the heroes will appear on the shoulders of those who are destined to save both races. I got word that the rebels have risen and will be on the battlefield on Midsummer’s day, next midsummer’s day. And you five must defeat the rebels led by the Malevolent Witch. You must travel tonight, at midnight to the magical realm; once you get there, your training will take place immediately.” She explained.

“Now, I want you to be here by tonight at 11:30, with all your things. Don’t bring any provisions I’ll take care of that. Now I need to give you something you will need.” She gave us each a black velvet purse. “Don’t open them until tonight when I tell you, promise me that.” She said, “Yeah, of course.” we promised.

“Now off you go. Heather and Viola, show your parents your Leya and they’ll come with you tonight. Don’t show anybody else especially the humans.” They nodded simultaneously. “Jackie, come and help me prepare the things you need.”

“Okay, Mom! Bye Viola, Heather, see you later!” I said as they waved at me.

“I guess I’ll have to quit Ballet and Taekwondo for the summer.” I heard Viola tell Heather as they were by the patio. Viola is somewhat the sporty type. She’s tough and brave for a girl. Prophecies? Reincarnations? The world has gone MAD... I just told myself.
