Sorry for the wait guys. I have a lot of ideas for this story, and I'm just trying to figure out how i'm going to play it all out. Hope you enjoy it.

My shift had just ended, and Dorian had to stay a little later working on the employee banquet, so I was getting ready to walk home. As I bought my coffee for the trip, Iced Latte, Sam seemed to be acting strangely. I couldn't really figure out why, but I didn't want to pry if it was none of my business. I looked out at the setting sun and wondered if I would make it back before it got to dark.

"Blain, your coffee is done." Sam practically yelled, pulling my attention back to the counter.

"You know, if you drink coffee so close to dark, you are going to end up awake all night." I put the hand warmer around my cup to keep from touching the cool condensation from the ice melting.

"That is the general idea." I winked and Sam rolled his eyes before narrowing into a glare. He really must not be in a good mood, he would usually laugh at my jokes, no matter how lame they are. With his arms crossed, and glare in place, I just giggled and made a shocked face with an 'o' forming my lips.

"Well than. I'll be on my way. See you tomorrow grumpy." I scurrying off just out of reach as he flicked the towel next to the sink and walked towards the back. I waved goodbye to the manager in the office as I walked out the back door that was employees only. He smiled back before shifting back to his paperwork eyes squinting, probably going over the sales.

The cool breeze hit my cheeks, and I sighed. It had been overheated in to shop today, and since I was running about the whole time it only made matters worse. I snuggled into my jacket a bit as I walked out of the alley and down the stree. It was quiet today. It felt like the temperature had dropped, but the wind was the only thing that bothered me. Looking down, I admired the side walk art along the way. I guess them coffee shop was around the art district, because there was always some new piece to look at. Suddenly, I felt a push on my shoulder. With a small huff, I fell backwards on my butt. When I shot my eyes up to glare, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed. In front of me stood a small girl, maybe a bit older than me, but not by much and her stature still smaller. She looked a bit shocked and throughout an apology as she reached her hand out to help me up.

"I'm am soooooo sorry. I can be such a klutz sometimes." I took her hand and she helped me up, and I was a little shocked by her strength. She pulled me up with ease, but I still had to put forth effort. Once I was back on my feet, I got a better look at the young girl. She was bouncing back and forth in her boots, shaking even though she seemed to be in fleece tights and plenty of jacket layers, with her red scarf wrapped around her neck. Her brown hair seemed to curl into the scarf giving her an extra layer for warmth that probably wasn't that much more helpful. I didn't think it was all that cold, or at least not shiver worthy, but I did hear somewhere that females tend to run colder than men, so it made a bit of sense.

"It's okay, I wasn't really paying attention, so it could have been my fault." I smiled reassuringly. I turned my head a bit and sighed. Even though I had been fine, my coffee was spilled across the street, the cup landing on the curve and spilling over the edge. I was luck none of it had managed to fall on me, but it was still disappointing that I hadn't gotten much of it.

"No, it was totally my fault. I tried to walk around, but tripped over my own two feet. Can I make it up to you, please?" I appreciated that she was willing to make up for it, but I shook my head and waved my hands in front of me, trying to say it wasn't necessary. But instead, she pushed a poster into my moving hands. Almost dropping the poster in my attempt to grab it, I fumbled before getting a good grip on it.
