The town was so old fashion, but the inside of the shops were high maintenance. And God forbid Dorian take me to a normal shop. No, it had to be expensive and high class store. I felt so out of place, it was ridiculous. And here he was, walking around all proud and mighty, completely use to it. I watched as he talked to the employees, asking them about styles and colors. It was kind of embarrassing. And before I knew what was happening, the employees were rushing me into a different room, Dorian smiling and waving.
" I was thinking something with stripes." One of them said, while all of them looked me over. I was then pulled and tugged to stand certain ways while they measured me.
" oh, but he did say for a year, and that he would need a full closet of stuff. We could give him ever style that suits him for now, and let him decide." Another one commented, as she measured my shoulders.
" and if he doesn't like something, he can just bring it back. No harm done. But the weather is going to be changing soon, so we might as well give him a variety of warm and cool clothes." The third said while measuring my leg length. After they had finished measuring, they rushed off to God knows where. I sighed as I hopped off the stand they had pushed me on, and walked out towards Dorian.
" I really don't need that much you know." I said as I walked behind him. He turned around and smiled brightly at me.
" it's fine. I want you to have everything you need. Just let me spoil you. I don't really get to do it that often." He said, turning me around, wrapping his arms around my stomach, and putting his chin on my head.
" what are you talking about? You spoil me every time I come. " I blushed as I heard him chuckle, but luckily, my back was to him, so he couldn't see.
" but this is different. This time, you get to have it for longer than a day. This time, it's long term. And what can I say, I love to spoil you." I blushed a bit more and turned my head.
Wait, what was that? Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of something. When I turned to look at it, I saw my reflection. And Dorian. Looking at me.
Damn it. I blushed even harder now that I knew he could see it, and I turned my head away again. I heard him chuckle, his dark voice ringing in my ear.
Luckily, this was when the ladies that measured me came back with tons of different clothing. Dorian let go of me and I was pulled into the changing room. I was given one outfit at a time, and after every one, they had me show Dorian. He would smile, and would ask how I liked it before making his own comments, about size adjustments, or color changes. After trying on way to many clothing, Dorian paid for it all. I was kind of relieved that he didn't show me the price, because I probably would have flipped. I guess they were going to be delivered, because we didn't take but one bag of clothing with us.
As we walked to the café that we would go to often, I watched Dorian out of the corner of my eye. He was smiling, and was just in the best mood. I couldn't help but be in a good mood with him, even after what happened this morning.
When the café came in sight, I grabbed Dorian's hand, which had been swinging back and forth between us, and pulled him faster. I looked back and giggled at his shocked expression.
" hurry up for Christ sake." I said, before pulling him harder. He stayed at the same paste, and chuckled at my struggle to get him to move faster. Damn vampire strength. Or normal strength. I don't know, I might just be that weak, but to make myself feel better, I'm going to say it's his vampire strength.
As we got in, I noticed there wasn't very many people there today, which was nice. I didn't ever like it when there are tons of people. It's to loud and i couldn't just sit and enjoy yourself. But today, with only two or three people other than the employees, it's nice. Dorian went to get our orders and I chose the seats next to the fire place. I watched the fire burn and blaze, and I thought about the winter.
This will be my first winter with Dorian, and being away from my family. Every Christmas, we would go to the mall for shopping, and we had this tradition that we would all be given the same amount, and we had to get something for each member of our family. We were also not allowed in the same store at the same time, so if we saw each other, one of us would have to leave. When Angel was born, mom would take her, and they would " shop" together. This year, me and Angel would have shopped together instead. And I'm sure we would have found something amazing for our parents.
I got out of my head when Dorian put my drink in front of me. I smiled as I saw that he got me my regular caramel macchioto. He sat across from me, his long legs crossing in front of him as he sipped his black coffee.
"So I got a question." I said, taking my drink in hand and taking a sip, the bitter sweetness hitting my tongue, causing me to sigh. This drink really is the best. I looked up at him, waiting for a sign to continue. When he nodded his head, I took a breath and asked.
