It's days like this that you find yourself truly at peace.

The rain was pattering softly against the window, thunder rumbling in the distance. You were tucked under the covers with Mirio, who looked soundly asleep as he had you wrapped up in his arms.

Mirio.

His blond hair was tousled, and he was snoring gently against his pillow as one hand intertwined with yours. You had complained once before of the heat, so he had opted to hold your hand while you slept.

He looked so calm like this; no worries about the stresses of everyday life or hero duties. You almost didn't want to wake him up.

Almost. He was just too cute for his own good.

You raised your free hand, running it gently through his hair. He made a soft noise, but made no move to wake up. You smiled softly, dropping your hand to cup his cheek. Leaning forward, you pressed a quick kiss against his lips, ending it as soon as it started.

"..that was so nice, why'd you stop?" he murmured, his eyes blinking open. His voice was thick with sleep, making your heart flutter against its cage.

"You were awake?" you asked, bringing yourself closer to him. He was so warm, you could feel it radiating it off of him as you rested your head against his chest.

"Thinking of sneaking a kiss?" he teases, running a hand through your hair. The action makes you melt, and you flutter your eyes closed as he continues.

"Don't fall asleep on me," he whines, "who am I gonna bother?"

"I guess you're right." you laugh softly, both of you silent for a moment to hear the thunder rumbling softly in the distance.

"Hey," you hear him say, and you turn towards him to hear him speak.

"I love you, you know that?" he says, and his voice is so full of love you feel your heart swell in passion.

You grin, leaning forward quickly to attack him with a barrage of kisses. He laughs, startled at the sudden affection from you.

"You're way too cute for me," you whine, pressing your lips to his for a quick, sweet kiss.

"I love you more." you add as you pull away, cheeks flushing.

"[name]-chan's so cute," Mirio gushes, grabbing your cheeks and pulling on them.

"stoooop you're stretching them!!" you whine, pushing him away. "Nevermind, I don't love you anymore."

"[name]-chaaaan." Mirio cries, pulling you closer, "if I don't get your love I'll dieeee."

"It can't be helped, then." You smile, pressing another kiss to his cheek. He grins, and you could see the flush of pink on his cheeks as you pulled away.

You really did love him. Too much for your heart to contain.
