Hey there! How's it going? Good, I hope. Well, here's your newest chapter. Hope you enjoy it!
Above is what Vaughn looks like.
{Pete's POV}
I immediately took notice of the cloudy feeling inside my head. My eyes slowly blinked open, my vision still a bit hazy. I groaned as I sluggishly went to bring my arm up to wipe the exhaustion from my eyes. That was when I realized I couldn't move.
Looking down, my eyes widened when I saw the ropes around my wrists and ankles. I was sitting in a wooden chair, and I could feel something covering my mouth. I screamed out, though it was muffled, praying someone would hear me anyway and come help. The room was dark, so I couldn't make out much.
Suddenly, a groan broke through the silence. "Uh, w-what? What is this? Where am I?" a tired voice asked.
"Patrick?" I asked, which again came out muffled.
"Pete? Is that you?" Patrick asked. "Pete! I can see you! Just, relax. We'll figure this out!"
It didn't occur to me that he could probably see well in the dark thanks to his vampire abilities. All of a sudden, I was blinded as the light switch was thrown on, flooding the room with light. I noticed that we were in the basement of my house. I looked up to see someone who looked almost exactly like Patrick, except this guy had black and red hair, and red eyes, burning red eyes. He wore black eyeliner, black jeans, a black shirt, and had a vicious smirk on his face.
"Well, hello there, Peter. I am so sorry that we had to meet under such...unfriendly circumstances, but this was quite necessary." he said. I looked around the room, and gasped when I noticed Patrick hanging from a metal hook that was screwed into the ceiling. "Oh, yeah...it might be a tad difficult to speak, huh? Let me just help you there." the man walked over and quickly untied the gag from around my mouth.
"Patrick!" I called. He turned towards me. I could see the black eye, and cut up face. "What did you do?!" I asked angrily at the strange man.
He laughed, walking over to Patrick and running a finger down his face. "Oh, we just had a little fun! Nothing too major, Peter. Relax!" he said, smiling at Patrick, fangs flashing and glistening in the light. A vampire, I thought. Another one?
"Leave...him...alone!" Patrick ordered, glaring at the guy, who immediately reared back and slapped Patrick in the face. Patrick cried out in pain, which made me flinch, pulling against the ropes, which dug painfully into my skin.
"Stop! Leave him alone!" I shouted, feeling tears fill my eyes. I quickly blinked them back, trying to focus on the task at hand and not my panic and emotions.
"Oh, the two of you have got me impressed! I mean, you keep going on with this...this thing you're doing. You keep denying your feelings, and it is hilarious! You two have been so fun to watch!" he laughed.
"Vaughn, stop this!" Patrick ordered. That stopped me in my tracks. In the heat of the moment, I hadn't stopped to think about who had captured us.
"Vaughn? This is...what?! How are you...?" I asked, looking him in the eyes.
"Out of little Patrick's head? All of the human blood he's consumed recently has increased my power. I was finally able to make my escape." he explained, smirking.
"What do you mean?" I asked, still confused. Vaughn sighed dramatically, turning away from us. "The story of my origins is not one I like to tell often, but I suppose I could take a moment to enlighten you both, if you wish." he said, before turning back to us. "I was born many, many years ago-September 14, 1642. I was a young boy, of a high social standing with a lot of wealth to my family's name. Ours was a well-known name, Bancroft." he paused as he spat out the name, tossing me a smirk.
"I was in my final year of secondary school when it happened. I was on my way home from a late night study for my exams at a friend's house, when a shadow appeared behind me. The creature grabbed hold of me and dragged me into an alley. I fought back, but the strength it possessed was unnatural. It sank it's teeth into my neck, and I blacked out. When I woke up, I was cold and alone in the middle of the night. I'd heard the legends before, and I knew what I was. I ran away from home, knowing I could not face my family ever again. I would be killed, and my family name disgraced.
"I survived for years, my power growing stronger and stronger. Unfortunately, I had a...rather unpleasant encounter with a witch in Romania. She destroyed my mortal body, and trapped my vampiric spirit on Earth. I traveled from host to host for centuries. Then, I found Patrick, alone in the woods, just recently turned." he said, his fangs showing through his smile. He turned towards Patrick, his eyes murderous.
"Why me?" Patrick asked, tears now filling his own eyes.
"Simple. I needed one of my own kind to possess. Vampires are much stronger than humans. Humans burn out quicker. However, Vampires have gotten much better at hiding, they're difficult to find. When I found you, I saw something in you, though. You were useful to me, Patrick. So, I took the chance that was given to me. Now, however. My power has grown enough to where I can manifest myself in a physical form. Your physical form. And once I rid this world of you, the change will be complete. I will take over your being, and make it my own!" Vaughn explained.
"No! Leave him alone! Let us go!" I shouted, tugging on my restraints. Vaughn laughed, striding slowly over to me. With a quick flash, the gag was tied around my mouth tightly. I shouted through it, but the words were muffled. Laughing, Vaughn ran his fingers through my hair, before tightening his grip and jerking my head back painfully. I cried out through the gag, and saw Patrick flinch across the room.
"You need to be quiet, Peter." Vaughn said menacingly. Finally, he let go of my hair, and crossed the room, headed towards the stairs. "I think we're going to make this slow and painful, huh, 'Trick? Won't that be fun?!" Vaughn asked, smiling like a Cheshire Cat. Patrick tugged on his restraints as Vaughn left the room, shutting off the lights, his laughter echoing in the darkness.
Well, here it is! I'm really sorry this took so long. With the end of the quarter, and Halloween, and Bowling team tryouts coming up next week, I've had so much going on. I really hope you guys liked this chapter regardless. This was just kind of a quick "Vaughn Origin Story" filler chapter, so that's why it was so short. If you did like the chapter, a vote/comment would be greatly appreciated. As always, thank you all for reading! Later!
