Amy's PoV:Hey, my name is Amy! I am twelve years old and I am going to middle school. My eyes are light green and my hair is blonde. I like to meet with friends and my favourite food is pizza. I also have a big brother. He is 16. But I don't like him! So, that's enough about me now, let's start!
It was a freezing Friday in January. I was at school. It was the big break now, about 9:50. I was sitting on a bench, until my friend Sarah appeared. She had black hair and amber eyes. "Hey, Sarah! Wanna play a prank the boys again?" I enquired. Sarah grinned and quickly nodded. I smiled. We were usually cheerful girls. I got up from my bench. Unfortunately the bell rang in that moment and we rushed back into our classroom.
This hour, we would have an exam in math. I hate math, it's just too boring! But I always had good grades. "Good morning!" our math teacher said with a deep, strong voice. His name was John Leaves. "Good morning, Mr. Leaves!" the whole class replied loudly. He quickly flailed around with his hand to tell us to sit down. We all sat down. "Today we'll write a test! I hope you've learned enough and I'm sure it will be easy for you!" When our teacher said 'easy' it meant hard! I heard a few disappointed moans from the back of the classroom. Mr. Leaves just ignored it and handed out the test. I looked at mine. Looked pretty easy, actually. That's why I find Math boring. When everyone had their test, Mr. Leaves shouted," Okay, you may start!" I looked at number one again and smirked. That test is no match for me! But then, at page 3 I sighed angrily. So boring and hard! Suddenly someone loudly knocked on the door. "Come in!" Mr. Leaves replied. The headmaster stepped into the classroom. He was an old but tall man with white hair. "I apologize for my interruption but is Amy Josephson here?" he spoke in a strict and serious voice. I nodded and stood up. "Yes, I'm here, Sir." He sighed. "Ms. Josephson, please follow me outside!" I left everything behind and stood up. Then I walked out of the classroom.
The headmaster led me to his office. I took a seat. "Amy, I need to talk to you for a while!" His voice didn't really sound happy, it was more disappointed. I was a little shocked.
"Did I do something wrong, Sir?" I questioned. He shook his head. "No, Amy! I actually only hear good things about you....." he replied. That was good news. But still, why was he so serious and disappointed."Look Amy, I don't know how to tell you but...." His voice got more quiet. I looked at him. "What's wrong Sir, you can tell me!" I smiled. He had something stuck in his throat. Something really, really bad. And I knew, it had to do with me! "Listen Amy, your mother, she is dead!" His voice was so worried. I looked into his deep brown eyes. "Is that true, Sir?" I couldn't believe him. "My deepest apology, child, I don't want to make you unhappy but unfortunately your mother died due a heart attack this morning," he spoke. He was really worried about me. My eyes widened. I thought he was lying. I jumped up from my seat. "No! That can't be true, you're lying!" I shouted. He sighed. "No, child! I'm telling you the truth! That's also why you don't have to come on Monday and Tuesday to school!" I could feel it, he was telling me the truth. He was worried about me, for real. My eyes started to fill with tears. I sat down again and cried,"Mom, I love you!"
