Meeting Mr Firth

Just woke up to the empty bed. Still having flashes of the previous night on my mind. The happiness and passion that followed it..his body pressing against mine. The thought that was going to be going on forever from then on. I looked at the ring still unable to believe it was all real when he entered the room..

-Good morning, beautiful! I just prepared breakfast for us.
-I swear you're the best fiance there is. Would soon be the best husband though.
-And you the best wife. But I say we shouldn't rush. Wedding preparations can get really tiring. Fancy a weekend away from everything?
-Have something in mind?
-The countryside maybe. A quiet place. Just the two of us.
-Perfect! But I have to see my friends today. Can't really disappear for 2days.
-Better said you can't wait to tell the news.
-Oh, that too..of course! Especially my best friend, I need to tell her.
-I understand. You want me to come with you?
-Would be better if I tell her alone. But we should all meet for lunch. And after that we can leave for our little getaway.
-Alright, but first let's have breakfast.

After breakfast I went to the hotel to meet Viv. Didn't even know how to begin. "Oh, hi! Wanna see my engagement ring?" or "Guess, what. The girl who said she shall never marry actually just got engaged." It felt exactly like the moment I was trying to tell her about the relationship.. Only now were far bigger news to tell. Maybe I should've take Colin with me.. As I got to the hotel I thought "Here I go again.."

-Good morning! Why did you sound in such a rush over the phone?
-I've been in a rush since last night.
And I see that smile on your face..I don't necessarily mean that kind of rush.
-What's up then?
-My wedding..that's up. Fancy being my bridesmaid? Promise not to dress you like a pink puffball.
-Wedding?! You mean..
-Yeah. Colin proposed to me last night.
-Oh.My.God. You're seriously not kidding me right now?
-Why should I be kidding with something like this. I'm serious. Here's the proof.

I raised my hand to reveal the engagement ring. She took my hand to see it better and left out a little gasp of surprise and happiness.

-That is so beautiful. Can't believe it! I'm so happy for you.
-I know, it's crazy! Thank you!
-Oh, and of course I would love to be your bridesmaid. Something I have started to doubt I would ever get to say.
-Well..my "I wouldn't marry" days are behind me. Remember I said I would marry when I meet my Colin. I wasn't thinking necessarily of Colin himself. But I can't complain..
-It's far better than you've ever thought.
-True that.
-So, you don't think it's in too much of a rush?
-Well, I know it isn't on your side. But on his..a bit. How did it happen so fast?
-He said he is sure he wants to be with me forever. Also to make everything official. He is quite certain.
-A man that know what he wants.. Exactly what you wanted.
-Yeah, I laughed. This thing called fate is a funny thing, right?
-Yes, indeed. Yet beautifully and luckily so.
-You don't have to remember me my luck. I'm fully aware of it. Or I think I am. Still feels like it's all a dream.. that could fade.
-It won't. It's like a dream but is real. Feel that ring. Does it feel like an illusion?
-No.. You're right, ..again.
-So, what about the preparations?
-Not so fast. We'll leave for the countryside after a lunch with our "crew".
-To tell Jen and Jack?
-Yeah. As for the preparations.. From Monday on..I guess.
-Okay, let's get to that lunch then. I need to congratulate the lucky man.

Just as we were going to get out of the room there was a knock on the door. I went to open it.

-Hey! I couldn't wait patiently at home anymore. Mind me coming in?
-We just got ready to come to lunch. Come in!
-Hello, Viv!
-Hi! Congratulations! Best news I received for quite some time.
-Thank you!
-Take care of my best friend, would you?
-I'm going to do my best. Promise.
-If you guys prefer to go on that getaway of yours quicker then I could meet Jack and Jen alone. And tell them.
-That's a good idea actually. I can't wait to leave for the countryside. Babe?
-Yeah. Me neither. Thanks, Viv!
-Have fun, you two!

After a few hours drive we got to the hotel. Such a quiet, peaceful place. As I unlocked the hotel room door Colin started to kiss my neck. Then we got in and started kissing slowly. He whispered to my ear that he hardly waited for us to be alone. He pinned me against the wall and started to undress me hurriedly. I slowly unbuttoned his shirt and ran my hands all over his bare chest. Then he carried me to the bed while kissing passionately.. His body pressing hard against my own..that body heat and his familiar smell which felt so good. The embrace and slow kisses after.. Everything was perfect.

A romantic dinner to celebrate the engagement privately. We stopped worrying about everything we left behind, about friends' or families' reactions or the press. We simply enjoyed ourselves.

Late in the night we decided to go out for a walk. The sky was clear and thousands of stars were shining above us. Colin took my hand and asked me if I wanted to dance.

-What, here? Outside and with no music?
-Trust me. Look around! This beautiful sky and the trees surrounding us. The fresh grass at our feet.
-Nature is more beautiful when you enjoy it's magic with the right person.
-Yes. So, let's have that dance, shall we?

He took his phone out of his pocket and placed it on the grass after playing a song. Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud", as he knew one of my forever favourites, started..

As we were dancing he started kissing me as if just following the lyrics. I put my arms around his neck and we continued moving slowly while kissing.

When the song finished I told him I had another one in mind. So I played another Ed Sheeran song to express just as much the feeling we had towards each other..

We once again felt like there was no one else on earth. Just us and our love. Ready to fight the world for it, for our happiness.
Once the song stopped he put his arms around me, hugging me tight, without saying a word.

The next day we spent by taking long walks on the beautiful green hills and through the forest.  We sat down in the grass on a hill and looked at the beautiful landscape in front of us. He put an arm around my waist and I placed my head on his shoulder. We didn't disturb the lovely quietness of the place by talking. I just glanced at Colin and he glanced back and took my hand in his. He understood I was trying to say how much I love him only without words. And he did the same.

-I don't want to leave this beautiful place.
-The magic doesn't have to end after we'll be back in London.
-It won't. But we both will be back to responsibilities we have there. And the busy city. Nothing at all like the quiet countryside.
-That might be so. But you said last night that it doesn't matter where you are. Matters more who you are with.
-Right. And we have a lot of planning to do. Or maybe not so much...
-What do you mean?
-After seeing the countryside with these beautiful landscapes I think I know exactly what I want. Let's get married here.
-On top of a hill?
-Why not?
-That's actually the best idea I've ever heard. It would be amazing.
-It would be perfect. A small ceremony with only a few friends.
-What about your family?
-I called my mother last night after you fell asleep. She's surprisingly.. looking forward to the wedding.
-Really? That's.. Great! I hope my boys would react just as well.
-They should after they understand us.
-We could meet them tomorrow..
