Early in the morning I went out to get the newspaper. I wanted to see it before Colin..I needed to think it over by myself if it was anything bad. Also had the chance to buy some coffee and donuts for breakfast.
When I got back home I saw Colin wasn't in our room, and neither downstairs so I went to check up on Cathy. He was there, with Cathy in his arms, both still sleeping peacefully.
I didn't wanted to wake them up just yet so I went to the living room, sat on the sofa and took the newspaper in hand..a little afraid to open it.

"Firth family goes out for dinner"..at least the title was nothing offensive..but let's read on. "Rumours that Colin Firth and his new wife were considering adoption have been confirmed last night as they were spotted at a local restaurant downtown. Images of Colin Firth kissing his wife and holding his daughter on his knee went viral on the internet. Apparently, Firth family gave up on being secretive and showed everyone how a normal family dinner goes. What people wonder about now is probably Firth's girls' names as clearly new Mrs. Firth is not a public figure."

Just as I was finishing reading that phrase I heard footsteps on the stairs..

-Good morning! Why did you get up so early?
-Morning', honey! I didn't mean to wake you..I wanted to go get the newspaper, and breakfast. Unfortunately the coffee is cold by now. But I couldn't wake you..you were sleeping so peacefully.
- Cathy is still asleep. Don't know how she didn't wake up when I left her room. What do they say about us now?
-See for yourself.

He sat next to me, I handed him the newspaper and waited for him to finish reading the article. I saw him smiling at some parts and once he finished reading he gave me a hug, whispering "I told you it was going to be fine."

-Now I think it would be wise of you to give these people an interview.
-I won't do it without you.
-What? No, I can't. I can't give interviews..I'll panick and say something stupid.
-I'll be there the whole time. Cathy too. We could do it here.
-Family interview.. Good point.
-Shall I call them?
-Okay. I'll go check up on Cathy while you talk with them.

Cathy was just waking up as I entered her room. She still had sleep in her eyes, but gave me a faint smile as she saw me coming in. She got up and I went to sit next to her on the bed. She gave me a cheek kiss and I hugged her, then began to tickle her as she collapsed into giggles. Colin came in too and joined us. All 3of us were laughing.

-Princess, do you want to become famous?
-Like you, daddy?
-Yes.
-I don't know.. I think so.
-Because some people will come here this afternoon to talk to us.
-About what?
-About our family. And they will take pictures too.
-Yay! I like pictures.
-When do they come, darling?
-5 o'clock. I though it pretty much convenient for you. They wanted to come earlier.
-You did great. Wouldn't take advantage of Jack's kindness anymore.. I did so enough.
-Ready for breakfast?
-Yeah..let's go downstairs.

After breakfast Colin drove me to work and then said he would go for a walk with Cathy. They were to come back at lunch and we could have it together. I watched them leave, Colin holding Cathy's hand and talking to her. Then raising her and taking her in his arms. She put her arms around his neck and they continued talking. "Such a good dad", I thought. And such a good husband. I was very lucky indeed.
Rest of the day at work went eventless. Maybe compared to the big challenge awaiting in the afternoon. The lunch was fun, Cathy was trying to draw a cat that ended up to look more like an elephant. Then when she asked why does she have to sleep in a separate room but mommy and daddy could sleep together I froze. I wasn't prepared for such questions from a 3years old. And I realised rising a kid, answering to questions from which she got thousands and anticipating needs wasn't an easy task at all. But luckily Colin knew what to do much better as he was experienced enough.
