Chapter 21
See latley I been thinkin' bout saving my soul, and do prayers make it to Heaven from the ghetto... Lyfe Jennings, "Stick Up Kid"
Later that day
"Girl, all that soul food has me tired then I don't know what!" Talisha laughed as she walked to her car to go back to Casey's condo.
"Baaaaaby! When I tell you I am full maw, I mean it! I am going to have to go to Planet Fitness next week and treadmill this shit off!"
"I'm goin' to meet you at your house all right? I have to vibe out to some Gospel music after hearing Mama J go hard for Christ and on us the way that she did too. I won't be working out too hard until I find out if I am pregnant or not. Raymond been blowin' my phone up like the rapture is comin' or somethin! Then Malone was texting me to stop by his crib today before eight o' clock and after hearing what she just said, I think I really want to focus on me right now."
"I know you are right about that vibin' out to some Gospel music and the pregnancy situation. You already know how Mama J is when it comes to Christ anyway. She also is the main one pushing weight to some of the female ushers in the church and Pastor Smith's son. Girl, I won't lie though she did give us food for thought today. I will keep everything she told me in mind too. Bye, sis. I will see you at the crib later today."
Talisha hopped into her 2011 candy apple red Honda Accord. Her thoughts were all over the place. She didn't know if she should have left Raymond in the friend zone or left Malone alone before things went sour. She look at her iPhone 5c and smiled as she checked her messages again from Raymond. Of course she was friends with other men who always texted her occasionally, but just seeing Raymond's name pop up, made her feel like she had a husband. There was something special about him, that wasn't just his sex, that had her mind gone. It wasn't even a week, that she spent with Raymond that made her feel that she was missing out on having a true relationship with someone. Malone was hardly ever home and never wanted to be questioned about anything concerning where he may have been throughout the day. Talisha had an entrenched attitude about her and Malone ever getting back together.

Honaray still had not the slightest idea of how to break down her and Malone's relationship to Warren. For the past few days, she shacked back up with her mother, until she felt she had enough time away from Warren to uncover the truth. Warren knew that Honaray was hiding out at her mother's house. He had no intentions on hurting her or taking any argument that may have come about to the next level. Honaray's ungovernable feelings munched on her thoughts as she dialed his number that she deleted a week before. Her mother's house was quiet and since her mother was off at work, she took the chance to try to clear the air over the phone; instead of being face to face. Honaray had a strong dislike for direct confrontation unless she was peer-pressured into doing it. Malone was always coaching her to be more outspoken and aggressive; whenever he thought she could become a push over down the line. Warren on the other hand didn't mind her shy ways of trying to solve issues at all. After calling him and going straight to voice mail after three rings she opted to just leave a message instead. As corny as it made her feel, she decided to drop one harmless message and let it her frustrations go.
Hey, Warren this is me Honaray...ya' kno? I was just callin' 'cause I kno' that we should just talk out this entire pregnancy thing. Whatever you have heard or been told did not come from me. I want for you to be a major part of your child's life. My little girl will probably be just like her father. Yeah, Malone might be her biological daddy, but at the end of the day we both know who my child with call her father when she is old enough to talk for herself. I may be young, but I damn sho' is not stupid. Just hit me up when you get this, so we can talk it out like adults.

The sounds of Lyfe Jennings, "Stick Up Kid" played loudly through Everton's new car, which was courtesy of his mother. He felt lesser than the man he once was before he went to jail. The money that he was going to set on and use to buy and sell coke and pills were used for his bonding. He was back to hustling and back to his team. To him, it was no use in applying to work any fast food job after the type of background he was use to carrying. After praying, to God he earlier, he wondered if prayers really do make it out the ghetto. His heart was directing him to the money, but his soul yearned for a change. He pulled up into Malone's driveway as he saw Talisha's parked there as well. Thinking nothing of it he rang the door bell as he unlocked his Samsung Galaxy S3.
"It's good to see you Everton! I knew you was going to come around eventually. I know that things take time," Malone said as he opened his front door inviting Everton in.
"Yeah, I thought about what you told me when I was locked up. Right now, I am just in a hole. I'm fresh out of jail with no intentions on going back and here I am lookin' for help. My team has been laying low for the past few months and I am still in touch with them too. As for now, I am just coming to you to just be able to get back established and on my feet."
"Cool, at what price you willing to sacrifice the truth or your life my nigga?" Malone asked as he poured him and Everton a glass of Hennessy.
"Since, I do have a choice just lay it on the table for me right now. I will make a decision when I am ready."
"So, now your step-brother Warren has two things of mines. One of those things are my baby mama's heart and the other is my fuckin' money. I don't mind knockin' the nigga's head off my damn self, but I choose to just keep it fair. You see, he has his cake and is eating that muthafucka with no manners too. My baby mama is pregnant with my seed as we speak now, but saying that this nigga could possibly have a chance at being the father too. I could easily have your step-brother smack off the fuckin' map just thinkin' about it right now. It's a shame what some strung out crack junkies or some of my young hittas would do on the East to that boy."
"Wait, so you want me to take out my step-brother or get you back all the money that you deserve? I honestly don't know what I can do about my Warren having your baby mama's heart either. Malone what I am a man of my word, but I really don't know if I could take my own brother out the game?"
"Everton, let me ask you this. Did you or did you not try to take your step-brother's life away when you found out that your girl and him was fuckin' in your bed? Just think about that shit. Let that shit saute in your brain, since you may have forgotten what the hell went down! It's either my money or his coward ass life. You bring me back my money and you get half of the profit and my product. If you take his life, I will give you $40,000 for competing the task. It's your choice Everton. I am giving you a way to use your nickname with no strings attach! You dismissed just stop back over here and let me know what you will do. Remember this to Everton, you can't go back on your word or I will have my hittas deal with you personally."
Everton thought back on all the drama that he put behind him and his brother. He knew that he could only trust Malone's intentions as long as they had nothing to do with his child's life or his mother's. He still held a slight grudge against Casey, but it was not a grudge that was strong enough to risk him not being a part of his child's life. At that moment in time he felt himself mentally boxing with his thoughts one on one. Malone smiled as he could only fathom the thoughts that was going on inside Everton's mind.
"Alright, I'm going to bring you back all the money that he stolen from your team. Only on one condition."
"What is that condition?"
"You keep your word and you leave my girl and son, up out of your mess."
Malone laughed and flashed a devilish grin as he took yet another sip from his glass, before he said, "Okay, but I am not making any promises Ev."
