Chapter 27

Wish I could bring that girl back to me, it's too late she's gone, she's gone, , she's gone, it's too late she's gone... Brutha, "She's Gone"

Everton cracked a smile while knowing in his heart that Warren damn sure hit that nerve to get him even more upset. It was still a comical situation for him to even be involved in, after he did try to reassure himself that he didn’t need Casey in his life. What could have been the real reason why he was in a way defending her, and the years that they shared in the past that where all starting to replay in the back of his mind, during that very moment? He knew that wanted to prove to his son that he could be the father figure that Casey wanted Warren to be. As he stared Warren down, fighting the built up aggression against him that was bottled up from the moment that he saw his son, he narrowed his eyes before he said,

“Both of you two deserve to be with one another, and I kept trying to convince myself that maybe, just maybe, fighting fo’ yo’ ass, Casey was going to be worth it when it really isn’t. You have me here looking like a plum ass fool and with my step-brother aiming a fuckin’ gun at my head. I stepped out of jail thinking that shit was going to do a complete one eighty and it did a three-sixty degrees turn around for the worst.” He said as he looked from Casey to Warren flustered.

Casey walked over in between Everton and Warren, as she said with tears streaming down her face, “I didn’t want things to be like this. I didn’t have a clue, what I was getting myself into. I just knew that I wanted to be love and I wanted to be happy and my son to be happy too. You can call me what you want, but at the end of the day, I am still Cavon’s mother!”

Warren couldn’t believe how bold Casey was being all of a sudden. He felt like he was in the middle of a love triangle that should have never existed in the first place. For, Casey to had been almost pouring her heart out to Everton made him face the gun on her.

He was highly infuriated as he said between grunted teeth, “Shut the fuck up, Casey! You know I wanted to give you a chance to be expose to being with a real nigga. I wanted to show you the benefits of riding for a man, who loves you and your son as his very own. But I see that you and I are not on the same accord. You fucking played me, telling me you love me and you wanted to give birth to my first born. You wanta be Megan Good acting ass bitch! I should take you out of yo’ ho’ ass life right here and now."

As Warren locked eyes with Casey Everton snucked him with gruesome punch straight in his face. “What now nigga, get up?!” He shouted as he knocked Warren off of his feet, causing him to had stumbled and dropped his gun.

“Al’right, my dude you got that. Let’s get it then, since you want to try and sneak me like that, Ev.” Warren replied boasting as he dilatorily picked himself up off of the tile floor.

Warren threw up his set as he begun to take a swing right back at his step-brother’s face. Everton immersed his punch and delivered three faulty blows to his nose, mouth, and chin. Just when it seem as if Warren was not a match for his hands, he rushed Everton into Casey’s handcrafted black and transparent glass stained coffee table in her living room. She shrieked as blood started to sketch the tiled floor and created diminutive puddles. Everton could not feel the blood that was gradually escaping from his back and arms, as Warren clutched his throat as if his life depending on killing him.

“Call me daddy, muthafucka’!” Warren boasted again as he held an even tenser grip to Everton’s throat as he gasped for air.

Casey watched as Warren choked Everton with everything that he had in him. Cavon came out of his room and ran over to the brawl as he tried with all of his might to get his Uncle Warren off of his father.
