Chapter 25

Yo' daddy made ya' let's see if he could be ya' savior... Soulja Slim, "From What I Been Told"

Casey couldn’t help, but to cry as she said, “Warren, don’t you treat me like this in front of my son, and don’t talk to him the way that you just did. Whatever you want from me, I no longer have, so please leave me and my son alone.”

Warren applied more presser as he pushed his gun into her temple as he replied back, “You think that shit is that easy to plea to me, since you have a fuckin’ gun to yo’ head? Mentally, you still think you this bad bitch that could get away with everything, like you runnin’ shit! Well, you wrong and you not that bitch you a home wreckin’ ho.”

“Don’t you call my mama a ho,” Cavon yelled as he started to unbuckle his booster seat.

Warren chucked as he watched Cavon try yo unbuckle himself. “Lil nigga, won’t you seat yo’ ass down before you make me hurt you and yo’ ho’ ass mama.”

“Okay, I’ma talk to you Warren. I’m going to let you know whatever you want to know, just don’t put your hands or that gun on my child,” Casey said calmly as she began to step out of the car.

Warren decided to be a gentleman at heart helped her out of the car. Cavon also opened his car door and ran close to his mother as they lead the way back to her condo. Warren placed his gun back into the back of his jeans as he followed the two. Once they all made it inside Casey turned on the lights in her living room. She wanted to go straight to her kitchen and make herself a glass of wine, but she kept in mind that Warren was still on a mission and it may have been a deadly one. She studied his every move and the way he conducted himself once he entered her home. Cavon remained close to his mother in fear of the worst happening during their conversation. They both stared at Warren as he started to speak.

“I’m not here to hurt either one of you. I had to pull out my gun ‘cause you take me to play with like I’m not about taking someone’s life and going on with my day carefree. Of course, I have done a lot of grimy things to you Casey, but that doesn’t exclude you from the pain that you put me through as well. I’m here because of my step-brother. There is a whole lot of undercover shady shit going on and people are plotting against me. I have enough money stashed off, so we can all be one happy family. You, me, and Cavon can leave New Orleans before my life is taken and neither one of you can enjoy the opportunity. We can start all over today and right now, and Casey we could get married.”

“I don’t know what has gotten into you, but I’m not leaving New Orleans’ with yo’ crazy ass. The things that I did to you could never amount to the way that you hurt me! Why can’t I hurt you like you hurt me and still feel like I don’t owe you an apology? My son doesn’t deserve to see his mother get treated like a fuckin’ criminal one day and a rag doll the next. If Everton is plotting against you then, you need to go down like a fuckin’ G. I’m not coming in between neither one of you. I’m happy where I am at, and I do not believe in my heart we will ever be married. When I cheated on Everton for you; I realize that the dick was better, but the pain will follow me forever. No longer am I holding on to you and the drama that comes with being with you, Warren. Not to be petty, but I also missed my period, and I’m getting an abortion.”

Warren stood silently as he shook his head mentally trying to string together the perfect words to say. He felt defeated by Casey’s harshness and feelings towards him. She had so much power over his emotions; that there was no way that he was a match to a verbal war against her. Cavon was the nephew that he dreamed of being a father too. The love that he had for them both outweighed the numerous of times he turned his back on them. He no longer knew how to convince himself to leave them both alone.

*************

Everton’s mind was going places that his thoughts didn’t want to travel to. He waited on his mother’s porch in Algiers for Casey and Cavon to arrive. He wanted to clear the air between himself and Casey and keep both of them away from anything dealing with his step-brother. Casey seemed to be taking longer than he expected and her condo wasn’t that far from where his mother lived. Instead of calling her, he opted to call Warren to find out what he could have been up to. Even though they were on bad terms he still had to get his mission completed without any flaws. Going back to jail was not going to be the ending of his mission for Malone no matter how much money was involved. After thinking about it and being wise, it wasn’t worth the pain of losing his step-brother no matter how many times he fucked Casey. Everton placed his phone to his ear and waited until Warren would eventually answer.

“What’s up, brother,” Warren asked as he placed his phone on speaker in front of Casey and Cavon.

“Nothin’ at the moment. I just wanted to have a lil conversation with you lil brother, if you not busy or anything.”

“Ummm...right now I’m handling some business. I’ll be able to holla’ at you later on today. You heard me? I’m a little caught up right now.”

“You don’t sound to caught up to me, and you better not be handling some business with my baby mama! I don’t give a fuck what kind of term she and I may be on. Just stay the fuck away from my girl and my son. I done give yo’ ass too many fuckin’ chances. Any other nigga outcha’ would have been put a fucking bullet in yo’ good fo’ nothin’ lyin’ ass! Let me find out, just let me find out, that you lying to me.”

“Look big brother, I told you that I’m handling some business and that business is none of yours. You doing all that yelling in shit over the phone, but not about that action. I don’t have a problem putting you in your damn place. If I was handling business with your baby mama then that’s our business my nigga. So play your role as the dead-beat-daddy and then come for me when you finish my nigga. You worry too fuckin’ much that’s your problem.”

“Fuck that, my nigga where you at? I don’t appreciate how you talkin’ to me. I could seriously finish you if I want to. Your life is in the palms of my hands lil bother. I gave you time to get yo’ money up and to stay the fuck away from my family and you disobeyed me like the stupid muthafucka’ you are.”

“Nigga, I’m with yo’ baby mama and my nephew. If you lookin’ for me nigga, you know that I’m not hard to find. I’ll be playing the game with Cavon when you get here, and teaching him how to be a man while you on your way my nigga. Trust me, I’m not running from you and Casey pregnant with my lil one, so we shall see who the better father figure in the next nine months."

“Just for saying that shit, you may not live to see the end of this year. I’m on my way.”
