Veronica put her hands in her pockets and eyed Dex up and down. "Um," she stammered. "Why do you plan on staying?" Dex put his backpack down and took in a breath of fresh air. "World gone to sh*t. This place has clean water and it grows crops. Figured we'd be the only smart ones to come here. Guess not." Dex took a cigarette out of his back pocket and clicked the lighter in his other one.

He lifted the cigarette to his lips and stuck in his. He sucked in and puffed a big breath of smoke outward. He looked at Veronica and chuckled. "You let us in here, why?" Dex asked. Wally tugged on his sleeve. "Let's not ask questions. Let's be happy they let us in!" Wally backed away slowly. Aaron crossed his arms and sighed.

"Why wouldn't we?" Veronica asked. "Have you not been looking at the world! We found out just today what was going on. Have you been to Augusta!? Have you seen the news as of tonight?" Dex asked angrily. "Um, no. All I know is people are turning into roamers and they're biting and killing people. The army has been deployed and... yeah." Veronica smiled. "Do you know about the rioters? The people who have already succumbed to anarchy?" Dex asked. "No, sorry." Veronica said.

Dex put his hand on his face. "And, um. Who's the leader here?" Dex asked. Wally backed up. "Dex, dial it down." "We never really thought of that," Veronica looked over at Aaron. Aaron shrugged. "I guess it's me?" Aaron nodded. Veronica smiled and looked back at Dex. "I guess I am the leader here. Why do you ask?" "It's fine. What the hell is a roamer?" Dex asked.

"The sick people. They've been walking around for about five days. Just no one notices them until they begin spreading like wildfire. We noticed them second day. We came here, we brought canned food, packages of water, several firearms, tools, weapons, and other stuff. Who knows how long we'll be out here." Aaron said.

"Aaron! Veronica! Who the hell are these people!?"

A darker skinned woman with long brown hair came storming out of the huge mansion in the center of Norridge. She had a greenish jean jacket, black undershirt, blue skinny jeans, and converse. She had a machete in her hand and she stopped about ten feet away from Dex. She pointed the machete at Dex's throat.

"Who the hell are you!?" she glared. Dex crossed his arms, puffed another smoke, and chuckled. He pointed, "You must be Cam." Cam glared at him, at Veronica, then at Wally. "You let them in?" Cam asked. Veronica nodded. "Why? We don't have many food rations." Cam said. Aaron scoffed. "We have food for years. Stop acting like it just needs to be us three." Aaron turned back to the others. "You're welcome to tour the place."

Dex stepped forward and rubbed Cam's face. "Aren't you a feisty one?" he smiled. Cam blushes and backed away. "I-I don't know w-what you're t-talking about-t." Cam sheathed her machete and walked towards the mansion. Dex looked around at the trailers sitting around the mansion. He counted about six. The mansion was huge. It had a balcony, pillars, and everything you'd see at an old time mansion.

"Welcome home Dex." Dex laughed.
