Dex held his hands over his ears. He sat on his knees inside of the silenced cell. His breathing fluctuated high and low, over and over again. His eyes continued pumping out tears. His vision was extremely blurry. His hands looked like tan blobs. His voice hummed and he could taste the salty tears in his mouth. His face felt dry and it was really warm. His cheeks were red and is nose was running. Dex's hair was messed up and his hat was on the floor. He rubbed his palms along the concrete up and down. He curled into a ball and wept. He couldn't hear anything but the pounding of his own head and soldiers sprinting down the hallways. Gunfire occasionally."Dexter. Get up." someone said from the cell door. They had a high pitched feminine voice. Dex stayed in a ball and sniffed a couple times. There was silence. The voice spoke up again. "Don't be a child. Get up and fight back." they said. Dex slammed his fists on the concrete with powerful force. "Shut up!" he yelled, tears streaming down his face.
"It's been a day. Dry it up and fight back." they yelled. Dex glanced over through is blurry vision to the person. They had a girly feminine appearance. Dex couldn't make out any facial features but he noticed a bright yellow dress. Something someone would wear on Easter. Dex brought his hands to his eyes and wiped away the tears.
It was Tinley.
She was wearing an Easter style yellow dress. It fell to her kneecaps and her sleeves stopped at her shoulder. Tinley's hair was let down and it fell to the middle of her back. She wore a yellow flower in her hair. She stuck the stem between her ear and her temple. She was standing upright and with her hands crossed, resting on her stomach. She smiled brightly. Dex noticed a bruise around her neck. It went all the way around. He face immediately grew angry.
"Dex. Fight back. Do it for Aviana." she yelled. Dex scrambled to his feet. He jumped against the back wall and covered his mouth. He screamed and pointed. "Tinley!?" he cried. Tinley nodded and put her hands on the iron bar. "Yes. It's me, Dex." she said calmly. He wiped away more tears and shook his head. "No, no. You-You died!" he yelled pointing to her neck.
"No. I'm not. Someone came to me and helped me up. I'm here now." she said smiling. Dex slowly walked towards the cell door. Tinley continued standing there. "Don't be afraid. I'm okay. Don't worry about me." Tinley said in a gentle tone. Dex placed his hands on the iron bars. When we went to touch her hand, she pulled back. Dex looked up at her with confusion. "No, it would make you more emotional. I don't-I don't know," she stuttered. "I just need you to get through this. It wasn't your fault." Tinley said.
Dex rested his head on the iron bar. He wept into his forearm and shook. Tinley looked down to the ground. "Dry it up. Your friends are on their way. They're packing a punch." Tinley said looking down the hallway. Dex looked up and gasped. He turned his head to look down the same hallway she was.
Ken and Katelyn were sprinting down the hallway with riot gear and SMG's in their hands. They popped any soldiers that came around the corner. Tinley looked at Dex with a serious face. "Go with them. I'll catch up." she said backing up. Dex held his arm out. Tinley swiftly walked to the opposite end of the hallway and went into an open door. "No! Come back! I need to protect you!" he cried. He felt someone grab his hand. He opened his eyes and Katelyn was holding onto it. "Move your hand. We need to open this for you. Sam and Blaise are already fighting with us." Katelyn said jamming a key into the lock.
She turned it and swung the door open. She tried handing Dex's desert eagle to him, but he sprinted back her. He stopped at the door that Tinley went inside of an he glanced inside the room. No one was in there. He put his hand over his mouth and backed up. "T-Tinley just ran in here!" Dex yelled. "She's gone!" he yelled. Katelyn looked at Ken and sighed. "Let's go." Ken said pointing down the hallway. Dex shook his head. "No! I'm not leaving her!"
