Author's Note:
This poem is about violence against women. Matagal ko nang nagawa ito, nu'ng grade 11 ako. It's just that, while I was "nagkakalkal" ng mga stuffs, I saw a piece of yellow paper kung saan nakasulat ang poem na ito. As far as I remembered, activity namin ito nu'n, of course, no other than, Creative Writing.
So, yeah. I hope you all like it and be aware sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa ating paligid. And as you can see, "Violence Against Women" ang title nitong part na 'to because wala siyang title, that's all.
P.S.
On the last part, at the end, ni-revise ko na 'yon at dinugtungan na lang. Originally, it was,
"I hope one day,
Justice will come to have
Peace,"Napansin ko lang kasi na ang inconsistent lang ng point of view if that will happen. Third person kasi talaga ang POV, so, para maganda at uniform tignan, let's just be consistent. 'Yon lang. =]
***
Evil has conquer the world,
Darkness envelops the light.
She suffers for so much pain,
Screaming for help,
But no one hears her.
The evil of darkness made her life
miserable.Her body covers with bruises,
wounds. . . blood. . .Marks that left her the memory
of torture.Her dreams. . . goals. . .
Suddenly gone in a blink of an eye.
The demon forms a curve on his lips.
Seeing her whimping in misery.
How long would she suffers
In this kind of agony?
When will she see the light of hope?
When will she be brave enough
To stand and fight for herself?
Death. . .
Is that the answer?
To stop being tortured
Physically,
Mentally, and emotionally?
She hopes that,
One day,
Justice will come to have peace.
That someday,
She can be a heroine
To any women
Who also suffers in this kind
Of situation.
That one day,
All women can stand on their own
And fight for themselves,
So that,
There is no need of
Prince charming nor knight in shining armor
To protect her. . .
She, herself can be a shield
Against the violence.
