I've been coming out of my room more, I think the chat with Liam helped but I still don't trust anyone, well apart from Summer but even she's changed since I've been gone. I just hope it's not because of anything bad.
"Come on summer, we have to get to school." I say trying to hurry my little sister along.
"I'm not going." She says sitting on her bed arms folded.
"Come on you've got p.e today. You love that." I say handing her a t-shirt and jumper which she just chucks on the bed next to her.
"No I don't running is stupid." She replies.
"What about all your friends, they'll all miss you if you don't go in." I tell her, she looks up at me as if she might be debating this.
"They'll survive." She says as if she is 15 and not 5. God knows who she's been hanging around with lately.
"Summer, Jess hurry up your going to be late." Mike calls up.
"Come on summer." I basically plead with her.
"Not going." She says firmly.
"fine then, I won't take you to get milkshakes after school." I reply grabbing my bag of her bed as if I was going to leave her.
"Promise we'll go?" She asks.
"I promise if you get dressed in 5 minutes I'll ask." I reply. Summer moves as fast as possible to try and get dressed which ends up in me helping her a lot since she's going to fast to concentrate on which way round any of it is.
We run down the stairs as fast as humanly possible without falling and Mike doesn't look impressed.
"What took you so long?" He asks.
"I couldn't find my bag, haven't needed it in a while." I say with a cautious smile.
"Right, I'll give you a lift so your not late but only once. You need to be ready on time tomorrow." he tells us.
I felt a little more timid about this journey to school now that we were going with mike and he wasn't happy. We both get in and the journey is pretty quiet, Mike interjects with questions which we answer but I don't really hold up a conversation.
We drop Summer of at her school before continuing on to mine. We arrive and I jump out.
"Thanks for the lift." I say about to walk away.
"Actually, can I take Summer to get milkshakes after school?" I ask.
"Sure but be home for dinner. Ok?" He replies.
"Ok, Thanks Mike." I say a smile spreading across my face as I walk into school.
||After school||
I walk from my school over to Summers which takes about 15 minutes and wait outside her classroom until she comes out.
"So what milkshake you getting?" I ask summer as we leave her classroom.
"You asked Mike?" She asks getting all excited.
"Yep, we have to be home by dinner though so you better hurry up and decided because you always take forever." I laugh.
"I want banana......No Chocolate....Wait...." She tells me changing her mind so easily.
We keep walking before finally getting to the café, we order drinks and she finally decided on strawberry and I had the same.
"So how was school?" I ask as we sit drink our shakes.
"Boring." She replies.
"I thought you liked school?" I questioned.
"Not anymore." she says glumly.
"Why? What happened?" I ask.
"They kept picking on me." She tells me.
"Who kept picking on you?" I ask, my breathing hitching a little.
"The big kids at school cause I'm in care." She replies a little sadly.
