Joey's POV:
It was getting late, so I started looking for Lauren. I found her at the bar, giggling and acting goofy.
"Hey Lauren, it's getting late, we need to head home, " I say, eyeing her and Megan. She looks at me and starts giggling.
"But I wanna stay longer." she slurs, pouting. Megan starts laughing as she takes another sip out of her glass.
"Lauren, you're drunk. I'm taking you home whether you like it or not." I reply sternly. Lauren pouts as she puts her glass down and follows. I help her into the car and buckle her up. As I back out of the driveway, I hear a light snoring come from the passenger seat.
When we arrive at the apartment, I carry her up to her room and lay her on her bed, pulling her sheets over her. I turn out the light and head to my room, exhausted.
Lauren's POV:
"Mom! Stop! Please!" I scream. Mom knees me in the stomach and I double over in pain. I fall to my knees as I grasp my stomach.
"No, you deserve it you little bitch." she yells. I look up and see her grab the belt. The tears start to fall harder.
"Please Mom! I didn't do anything wrong!" I plead. She shakes her head, raising her hand up behind her head. I feel the sting of the leather belt smacking against my upper arm. I scream at her to stop, but she refuses to. After a couple hits, she drops the belt and walks into the kitchen, returning with a knife in hand.
"Mom! No!" I scream.
I sit straight up, breathing heavily. It was just a dream.
"What's going on? I heard you scream, " Joey says, breathless. I look at him and break down in tears. "What's wrong?" Joey asks. I shake my head.
Joey's POV:
I feel a hand on my shoulder.
"I can handle this. You can go back to bed." Sawyer whispers, shutting the door behind him. I stand out in the hall for a couple minutes, taking it all in, before walking back to my room and going back to bed.
Sawyer's POV:
"What's wrong Lo?" I ask. She shakes her head, muffling her sobs with her hands. "Tell me. "
