Walking in and hearing her words, I figured it was my sister telling her about the conversation I had with Rachael. Which may I say that I did tell her to keep her mouth shut, but like always she failed. "I eventually would've but I seem to have a loud mouth sister to tell all my secrets for me" I say from behind her. After a moment she hangs up the phone and turns around to me. I smirk knowing I caught my sister in the act.

"You know Kevin Lakes" she asks as she shifts Nala on her hip. "Yeah, we went to high school together. Use to be good friends" I tell her. "What happened" she asked softly. "His girlfriend left him for me, but I wasn't interested. It was a time when I was fully invested in my career" I explain. Jessica grabs a few toys and sits Nala on the floor with them then sits on the end of the bed. "You and Rachael are my emergency contact. I doubt he has seen it, but I know his secretary has. You don't think this will be a problem do you" she asks concerned.

I wave my hand, "No, I doubt it. Its been years since that issue happened. He also knew I never wanted a relationship with the girl." She nods in understanding. "So when do you move" I ask hoping it wouldn't be anytime soon, but that was the inevitable. "If everything goes good, this Friday at the end of the days I get the keys. I would get the weekend to move" she says. I can see her battle with being excited or not. She deserves this opportunity.

"I can call the guys to help move" I suggest. She smiles, "That would be great. Thank you! Since I have the job, I can use some of that money to buy some small stuff that we will need. Plus I think Nala is ready for a toddler bed. I'm sure Rachael would be thrilled to go shopping again" she chuckles. "Very true. My sister seems to be a shopaholic" I laugh.

"If you wouldn't mind letting me use your truck when I go shopping that would be amazingly helpful" she adds. "No problem. Since you will be working, have you thought about a car" I ask. "Rachael has mentioned the process, but it sounds more doable after I start working. Just payment wise. I'll have to do a cab or something until then. Plus I need my license" she says. Im surprised that Rachael has mentioned it, but I think its more of me wishing I would be the one to tell her all this.

"Well I have the car in the garage. I rarely ever use it plus I have the truck. Of course that would be after we get you a license" I tell her. Jessica suddenly stands up and wraps her arms around my neck, hugging me. "Thank you so much Ben. You've been so helpful and supportive. I don't know what Nala and me would do without you" she says and kisses my cheek.

"Just doing my job" I say but instantly regret it. I watch her smile fade. "Its not-" She stops me but kissing my cheek again.  "I know" she smiles. If I said that in front of my sister she would have ranted and raved at my until I was begging on my knees for forgiveness. Then an idea pops in my head to change the way this conversation from going farther south.

"Will you and Nala let me take you guys out for dinner?" Smile spreads on her face, "Of course."
