Emma's Gymnastics Story

A Night To Remember

"I think you should invite your gymnastics friends over!" Mom said.

I thought about it. We could play our own gymnastics games and eat candy! That's actually a brilliant idea!

"You know what Mommy?" I said. "You are smart! I would like that!"

She smiled and said,"You've never had a sleepover before..."

They can sleep over?!!!

"So can they sleep over then?!" I asked anxiously.

"Okay, fine," Mom said. "But you can only invite up to four people."

"Perfect! I only was gonna invite four people anyway!" I exclaimed happily.

"Okay, well what are their names?" she asked me.

"Amber, Amiyrah, Bree, and Loren." I answered.

She scratched her head and said,"Well first I have to figure out a way to contact them."

Well twenty two minutes later she got in contact with all of them about having a sleepover at my house. I was excited! My first ever sleep over, well technically not because I'm not sleeping over at anyone's house. But first time having friends over to stay the night! We're gonna have so fun! When they came which was at 6:38 p.m, I hugged them and told them come on inside. They came in their leotards.

"Hey guys come on inside!" I exclaimed after hugging them.

They all came in and Amiyrah's Mom talked with my mom for a bit.

"Guys what do you wanna do?" I asked. "do you wanna do gymnastics?"

They all nodded. Bree said,"Yeah and then let's play a gymnastics game!"

"Okay!" said Amber, Loren, and Amiyrah and me.

We went outside and my Mom bought me some gymnastics equipment like she said she would--a mat, beam, and bars. So we went outside and first went to the bars. Loren jumped on it and swung. Then she did a cast and a back hip circle and dismounted it. Then Amber jumped on it and did our bar warm ups, pull ups and putting, your legs as high as they can. Then she did two pull overs, a back hips circle, a single leg backswing, a mill circle, and dismounted the bar. Amiyrah and Bree then went after them and I did. I ran and jumped onto the bars. I did a two mill circles, a pullover, a single leg backswing, and a cast. Then I swung a little bit before I jumped off.

Now we worked on beam. We did cartwheels but couldn't do the cartwheel to handstand or any special mount or dismount because the practice beam for home is low. We practiced handstands, our half turns, and jumps. Then we did floor! We did back walkovers. I fell into a backbend an immediately kicked over and I made sure that my toes were pointed like my coach said.

"Guys, remember to point your toes!" I said like I was coach.

They giggled and said,"You're not coach!"

I giggled, too. We did a contest on how long we could hold our handstands. Amiyrah won! Well seven seconds longer than me. Then we did cartwheels and handstands to forward rolls. Then we played some games and went inside.

"We should take a bath." Loren said.

I asked my mom and she set the tub up for us. We washed up. After our bath we dried up with our towels and then changed our clothes. We decided to give each other makeovers. I would give Bree a makeover. Then she'd do me. And Amiyrah would do Lorens makeup and Amber would do her own. Amber didn't want anyone doing her makeup.

I swiped the eye shadow brush of the color blue onto Bree's eyelids.

"That's a soft brush!" she said with closed eyes.

I agreed and continued doing her eyeshadow. Then I got a tube of hot pink lip gloss and rubbed her lips with it. Then I opened a can of purple art glitter and sprinkled it onto her eyelids.

"Hey! That feels like glitter!" Bree exclaimed.

I giggled and sprinkled it onto the other eye. Then I went to my moms vanity and got makeup glue. Then I went back or my room and brushed the glue onto her eyelids. Perfect. Then I got rose red blush and brushed it all on her cheeks. And she's done!

"You can look in the mirror now!" I said and she looked.

She admired herself and said,"I look a fairy princess!"

We all giggled and when all of our makeup was done, we did nail polish on each other. Amber did my nails, Loren did Amiyrahs nails, and Bree let my sister, Haley do hers. Amber did my toe nails first. We did pedicures and manicures. She filed my toenails and then got nail polish out. She swiped the brush of lavender colored polish onto my nails. After two layers she polished them up with silver glitters and then sprayed them with a nail polish dryer spray. Then she did the same pattern with my fingernails. First she did a manicure.

After our nails we all admired our nails. They were all so pretty, but I think mine are the best, thanks to Amber.

We decided to watch some tv downstairs. We watched our favorite cartoons- Spongebob, Bubble Guppies, Powerpuff Girls, and Dora the Explorer. When it was already 9:12 we decided to go and eat a snack. Then we brushed our teeth and went to sleep. We slept on my bed. With closed eyes, all I could think about was this night. It was so fun and it was definitely a night to remember!
