Today was a fun day in gym! Julie, Shay, Bree, Paige, my new friend, Amiyrah, and I were sitting together at a table eating our snacks.
"I brought tons of candy!" I exclaimed. "Want some?"
Without any doubts, they all dug into my big bags of candy. It was funny. The rest of the day in gym was good, and then my mom picked me up.
At home, my mom seemed upset about something...almost like something was bugging her. I needed to know! It was now bugging me, too, now.
"Mommy!" I cried. "What is wrong?"
She put her phone down and picked me up. "Aw, sweetie. It's nothing you need to worry about at the young age of seven. Just go and...practice your gymnastics skills!"
I looked down at the hardwood floor and cried,"Mommy, tell me!"
"Aw, baby, you're a big girl now, and you have no reason to cry." she said, looking into my eyes and wrapping her arms around me. "None of this is your fault, okay? Now go upstairs and prepare for bed."
She wiped the tears away from my eyes gently and smiled at me. I crossed my arms and then ran upstairs to my room. I am worried about Mommy! I dunno what's going on with her but I guess I should leave her alone to make her happy...
I brushed my teeth with my pink tooth brush, with my favorite princess Cinderella on it, and a few seconds later I was out of the bathroom. I was walking, looking down at the hallway floor and then I bumped into someone.
"Ow!" I bursted into tears. "She hurt me! Mommy! Haley hurt me!"
Haley frowned and said,"It wasn't my fault. You weren't even looking up."
I frowned at her and continued crying. Soon Mommy disciplined us and she brought me to my room.
When she was tucking me in my bed, I said,"Where's Daddy?"
The room grew silent. What is up with mommy? What is she hiding?
Finally, she said,"He's...he has to stay late at work—a meeting..."
I nodded my head slowly and said,"Aw, I miss him!"
She pursed her lips, sighed and said,"Well, I'm sorry baby. He has to stay there. But don't worry, you'll see him tomorrow. Good night sweetheart, I love you!"
"Love you too, Mommy." I said and slid under my blankets as she turned my lamp off.
I wiggled my tooth and then suddenly my finger was wiggling nothing. Huh? Where'd it go? I got up and turned my lamp on to find my little missing tooth right on my bed where I was lying on. Aha! It fell out! Shay lost her tooth recently and told me that if you want money you should put it under your pillow and when you wake up there will be money there! I listened to her because she actually got money from doing that.
It took a few minutes to fall asleep because I was so excited to get money tomorrow!
The next morning, I excitingly flipped my pillow over to find a five dollar bill there!
"Yay!!!" I exclaimed excitedly and my first instinct was to run over to my parents room and tell them about it, soooooo, I did.
I opened the door to find my mom screaming to my dad with his phone in her hand.
"Uhhhhh...what's going on in here?" I said scared.
I hate when my parents argue! It makes me feel super upset!
"Oh my god..." my mom said, putting the phone down. "You weren't supposed to see or heard, Emmy sweetheart..."
Dad sighed and said,"Your mother and I are just having uh—some disagreements at the moment. I think it's best if you just go back to bed and forget about this, baby girl."
I raised an eyebrow and cried,"But why?"
They both exchanged horrifying glances and then Mommy said,"Sweetie, come here."
I slowly walked to Mommy's side of the bed and she ruffled my hair as she said,"Sometimes Daddy does some things that aren't...that aren't exactly what Mommy wants him to do. And that's what's happening right now, okay? It's nothing you need to worry about at your little age, darling. Now please go to bed and do what mommy and daddy says."
I nodded my head still confused on what exactly is going on right now, but I obeyed Mommy and left the bedroom—well let's just say I didn't fully obey her because I just went outside of their room. I leaned against the door so I can see what was really going on—what they weren't telling me.
"I told you your loud ass would wake Emma up!" Mommy yelled at Dad.
"You were still screaming so don't blame it all on me!" he replied annoyed.
"Well I have an excuse, Andrew!" she said. "You were the one sending fucking nudes like a teenager!!!"
Nudes? What are nudes? And did she say the F word!?!?
"I-I was drunk, okay?" Dad said.
"Just..just shut up, Andrew!" Mommy said angrily. "I know you knew what you were doing! Clearly! And that night later when I saw you you weren't drunk! I know the difference between drunk you, and not drunk you. So keep hunting for alibis, nothing will work. Get the hell out of my house!"
Oh. Em. Gee. She wants Daddy to leave? Why? I need to go before they find me! I took a deep breath and ran to my room and closed the door, hopping into bed as quiet as a mouse. At least I thought I was.
I could still hear screaming in bed. I hope Daddy doesn't really leave! Footsteps. Clickin' n' clockin'... Oh no! That must be my dad! Well I'd better go down and check!!!
I quickly ran out of my room and ran down the stairs to find nobody. At least that's what I saw... but then...who was down here? I know I heard footsteps loud and clear...
