"Hadley... Hadley get up! Your arm's bleeding!" Whispered my little sister, Meadow. I shot up out of bed and looked at my arms. My scab picked off, and they were bleeding.
"What happened?" Meadow asked, bouncing on my bed.
"Um... I'm not sure." I quickly covered up my scars and hopped out of bed. A warm shower was calling my name. I shut the bathroom door and sighed. Keeping this a secret is hard, especially with summer approaching. I shimmied out of my pajamas and untied my greasy hair. I loved my hair. It was naturally wavy and brown and it fell just past my shoulders. I turned on the hot water and jumped in, but covered my mouth and stumbled back. The scabs were peeling and warm water did not feel good on my cuts. I groaned. Cold water it is.
As I stumbled down the stairs, my legs wobbling from not eating in a while, my hung over Dad grumped out of his bedroom.
"OUT OF MY WAY!" He shrieked at me. I quickly jumped out of the way, to let my Dad by. As he walked by, he pushed me over, which made me fall to the floor.
"Next time you move before I have to tell you." He mumbled. My mouth fell open. So did Meadow's.
"Daddy stop, that's not nice. She didn't see you, she's still tired." Meadow smiled. My Father has always been more fond of Meadow then me.
"Pumpkin you know Hadley was an accident, so she should be treated like one. She was a bratty kid, too. I hated her. You on the other hand were an angel. I don't know where you get it from." He glared at me, and I backed away from the kitchen.
"Now leave before I beat you." He snarled as he went upstairs. I grabbed my bag and dashed out the door. As soon as I left my house, I ran into my best friend, Sevonna Montepellier.
"Hadley! Hi! I was just coming to get you! You want to walk to school with me? My car broke down yesterday." Sevonna was always the person with a smile and a loud voice. She was very daring with her hair and make up, but everyone seemed to love her.
"Sure." I jogged down the sidewalk and hoped that my Dad wouldn't see Sevonna, otherwise he'd hit her, too. When we finally reached our school, I was almost crying in pain, weakness, and lack of sleep.
"Hadley, are you okay? You don't look good..." Sevonna asked, clearly a little grosses out. I shook my head, and that's all I remember before hitting the cold pavement.
