It was quite warm when I woke up. Sad to say my bed was empty. Apollo was once again no where to be found. I got up and made my bed. Once I sleepily made my way downstairs, still in my pajamas, the backdoor was closed. Apollo couldn't possibly walk out from the door. There was no other entry way in this house besides the front and back. A dog couldn't possibly open the door with its paws. That's crazy.

I took an apple from the fruit basket and dialed Martin's number.

"Martin speaking." A sleepy voice said. I probably woke him up. Whoops.

"Hey," I breathed out. "It's me, Allie. I can't seem to find my dog...wolf, whatever." I took a bite of my apple.

"Was he outside when you left him last night?" He asked me, his voice was now stern and clear.

"No, well, sort of. He took off with his pack last night but I left the door open. He was on my bed when I slept. Now I can't find him." I said a little too fast. The apple bits in my mouth wasn't helping my situation.

"Okay calm down, Allie. He's probably getting breakfast with his pack. Don't go in the woods." He said. I thought he was going to say something else but I waited a few more seconds just to be sure.

"He couldn't have gone out, Martin. That's the problem. He would've needed thumbs to open the doorknob." I said. My breathing was still even, thankfully. "It's okay, Allison." Martin said, cooing me.

"I'm going to see if he's out in the yard attempting to devour a poor bird." I plainly said, and earned a chuckle from the other line.

"Call me whenever, Allison Cooper." Martin said, and hung up. I don't know whether or not he was serious about me not going in to the woods, but whatever. I still went.

The woods was not as scary as people described it to be. There was a river a few miles from my house. Maybe about 20 minutes on foot. I was wearing my runners when I got outside, since I'm certain running would be something I'll do.

I was halfway towards the woods when I heard someone breathing. A branch snapped from my right and my head shot in that direction, searching for who broke the branch. There was a giant dog. A wolf. It was big, maybe a few inches taller than Apollo. I couldn't tell if it was a he or she. The wolf looked at me. It didn't occur to me that I should've ran for my life, but I didn't move. If I moved, the dog would snap me.

He walked towards me, and I tried not to move. It was hard, but maybe not moving would make him ignore me, that he'll think I was harmless. But I don't want him to see me as food.

The dog snarled and started to growl at me. He was only a few feet from me and my heart was beating faster than an electric song about to drop the bass. He took easy steps towards me and just as he was about to touch me, another dog appeared in sight.

The dog...wolf, was pure white. He was really clean and the fur kind of shone in the light. He, or she, walked beside the other dog, who was about to eat me. They were both white, but the first wolf I saw had a black line around his head, like a halo. But he's evil.

They seem to be having conversations at each other and I was so confused. Should I run away? I could risk getting killed by these. Martin was right. I shouldn't have went to to woods. I still stood still, and slowly tried to back away from the wolves, keeping my distance from them. They didn't seem to notice until my foot got caught on a tree root and I fell.

Stupid root.

Wolf heads turned to me and both of them growled. My eyes widened and I got up, without any second glance, I ran. I heard howling from a distance. I heard them following me, and they were barking. I could never outrun those wolves.
