Elias's father came minutes after. His hair was wet which made me wonder why. He wore a red sweater and ripped blue jeans. Elias asked me if I wanted to stay upstairs. I shook my head. I wanted to know what happened.
"One of the Casters would be coming here as soon as she can. This is serious." Kenneth placed his hand on my dad's chest. "He's breathing, but not really responding. His heart beat is way to slow. He needs blood. Most of his got drained."
I sat on a chair, my hand covering my mouth. I was shocked. All these months I believed my dad was dead, but he's right there in front of me. I wanted him to hug me, but he's just laying on the couch. His body looks so lifeless.
The power went back on.
A door opened and a tall lady walked past me. "Good evening, Larsons, Cooper." She nodded at me and I forced a smile. I stopped crying. I clutched my hands together, silently praying that everything is going to be okay.
The lady scrunched her eyebrows. "Strange," She said "For a human, his heart is still beating. He was ambushed." She placed her hand just inches above my dad's head. "Two vampires, none I am familiar with. They are being controlled by a werewolf."
When she emphasized "werewolf", Elias flinched. He stood up and stood beside me. He rubbed my back, which made me feel comfortable. But I was still so schocked and nervous.
"Any idea who?" Kenneth asked. It looked like he was doing CPR, but I couldn't be sure. I just stared at them, unable to move.
"The face isn't shown. It was in the middle of a highway. In broad daylight."
I felt Elias tighten beside me. "There's only one vampire family in this town. I'm going to their house." He turned around and headed for the door, but I stopped him. "Hold on. I'm coming with you."
Elias scoffed. "It's dangerous for a human to enter a vampire's home." He said. I shook my head and grabbed his head. "Same goes for you. You won't let them touch me. I'm going." I said. He took a deep breath and sighed deeply.
"We'll stay here and find out more about the attack. Get Martin with you." Elias's father said. "He knows vampires."
Elias nodded, taking my hand and walked towards the back door. He faced the woods and when I saw him, his eyes glowed again. He started howling like a wolf. He was in his human form, so I was confused. I was going to ask him if anyone will hear him, but then two wolves howled back. A large black wolf and a grey one appeared from the forest. I knew the black one was Martin. He stood up, and I heard weird noises. It was dark outside and with Martin being a dark wolf, I couldn't see him properly. Then I heard footsteps on cement. Martin walked towards us, his face was worried. The grey wolf laid down on the grass, watching us.
"I heard what happened. Do you want to leave now?" Martin said. He was staring at me. I hugged him, and he just wrapped his arms around me. With three werewolves with me, I felt safer and more protected. "That's Kobalt, my brother. When the blood hounds attack, just ride on him. He'll take you straight to the pack where you'll be safe. We're crossing a territory here, and it won't be a pretty scene." Martin said. Kobalt howled, and Elias and Martin just stared at him. They were probably doing the mind talking thing, and I just shifted uncomfortably.
"Let's go." Elias said. We walked around the house to a vehicle parked outside my house. It was a black SUV. "Do you want to turn, Kobe?" Martin looked back at his brother, who moved his head from side to side. He stuck his tongue out and breathed heavily. It was a dog thing.
Martin opened the back door of the vehicle and Kobalt hopped in. The big space was enough for him to lay down. Elias opened the passenger seat for me and helped me inside. It was a big car. There were steps below the doors since it was high.
