Can I talk to you?
"Sure." I said, patting the empty spot on the couch beside me. Apollo jumped and laid down, his head resting on my lap. Mom and dad went to my mom's sister, Georgia's. Aunt Georgia lives in another town, just half an hour south from here.
What if I told you something so crazy, something so insane, so unreal?
I creased my eyebrows in confusion and looked down at him. Then I petted his head. He closed his eyes. "Is it believable?" I asked.
Yes, and no.
I nodded my head. "Tell me." I said, trailing my hand from his head to his back. I stroked it gently, then tugged his thick fur softly. It felt nice to grab something soft and furry.
I'm not really a wolf.
"I figured that out." I impassively said.
What?! Really?
"You're not a normal wolf, that's for sure. Don't you think that's sort of insane already? A wolf, and a human, having conversations?" My voice was low, as if someone was watching us. But my parents had left since last night, and they weren't coming home until Saturday morning.
I know. What if I told you I was a mythical creature?
I felt like laughing. Myths aren't real. "What are you gonna say? That you're a werewolf?" I smirked. He didn't talk. Apollo just stayed quiet. I stood up and squinted my eyes at him. "What are you up to?"
God damnit. I'm being serious here, Allie!
I sighed and sat back down. Apollo didn't place his head on my lap. He was sitting down, and was my height. He was just that big.
I am a werewolf.
He was mumbling, and I couldn't hear him properly. "Huh?"
I can talk to you because of mind link, because I can be human, and I can be a wolf. They call it werewolf.
I blinked. He cannot be serious. I mean, really, a werewolf? That's not true. I made a research about Lycantrophy. It's just people thinking they can be a wolf. But that's just humans, not wolves thinking they can be human. When Apolllo realized I wasn't talking, he continued his talk.
I turn into a werewolf in the Full moon, which we draw power from. A werewolf is a more vicious creature, our third form. I stand on my two feet and devour anything that comes in my way . From blood... to muscle... to bones.
A gasp escaped my lips and I stood up almost immediately, and i backed away. "Why are you telling me this?" I whispered. I felt like something bad was gonna happen, but I also felt like he was just joking.
I heard a sigh in my mind, which was of course, Apollo, my talking wolf and apparently, a werewolf.
The truth hurts, and sometimes the truth can set you free. The sooner you find out, the more I feel free.
This was freaking me out. He sounded so serious. Sweat was tickling down my back and I couldn't say anything. I just stood there, my arm resting on my sides.
Please, don't be frightened. The last thing I want is for you to be scared of me.
That relaxed me a bit, knowing Apollo wouldn't hurt me. Apollo jumped from the couch then walked towards me, which I backed away from since our conversation was scaring me. "Why?" I whispered. "Why will it set you free?" I said, my voice louder than a whisper.
