Revolution

Chapter 9

People screamed in the distance, fear numbed the severe pain as the night guard crawled his way through the streets. Blood oozed from the left shoulder, deep cuts ran along his right rib and broken bones ached under the right thigh. He could feel his men getting slaughtered and knew he could do nothing to help. He was out of ammo and used the last grenade for his escape.

Guards called the protestants reapers as they symbolised death and devil. They had headquarters in major cities with database of all reapers who were identified or killed. The number increased daily with more reapers learning the skills to eradicate guards.

He crawled his way to a valley, tried to stand up but suddenly something bashed his spine and he fell with agony. He looked back. His eyes met two large tentacles fixed to the ground carrying a small young man. The man pierced the only remaining hand of the guard and one of his legs with the tentacles. He watched as the guard screamed with pain. He took the tentacle out of the hand and started tearing out flesh like  mutton chop. One by one, the guard felt his muscles been torn off by the psychopath in front of him.

“Enough Tony, just kill him already. ” Jessica screamed as she came gliding from the top of the building. James who was standing behind her, came to Tony and pulled him back as he took off the guard's leg. Jessica cut the guard's throat put him out of misery.

James let go of Tony and asked :” Did you do what you were told?” Tony was furious because not being able to finish his art and so he ignored James. Jessica stepped in front of Tony as he tried to walk away, pulled him up catching his throat and said :” you will do as you are told. You know what happens if i'm angry, right?” Tony wasn't pleased but his mind brought flashbacks which gave him chills. He remembered that kidnapping Rob was their second attempt and they already had six members before Rob came along. Jessica put him down and Tony spoke : “ He lives three blocks away, he already is with some gang so will have to wipe them off before we could get to him. I have a plan. Let's talk about this when we get back to room. “

Tony jumped and disappeared into the dark valley. James and Jessica looked for night guards nearby, climbed up the building and moved through the roof top.

Rob stood on the side looking outside the room. Roy was talking to Erica when Tony shows up. Without any warning, Tony started pounding Roy for talking to his girl when Jessica and James showed up. Erica stopped them and James screamed while he pulled Roy to the side :” knock it off. “ Jessica gathered everyone to the table and explained the mission : “ Reyes, 21 year old, spent most of his life in hiding. He erased himself from existence. Wiped out any detail of ever being alive and was called a virus among the hacking community. His skills were so good that he could hack into anything without moving a finger. We need him alive but no need of his gang members, just him. James, Roy and Erica take care of the gang. Tony, you are with me. We snatch him and leave the rest to them. Everyone meet near 31st street and then head back here. Is that clear?”

31st street, midnight. Jessica stood at the side of the car with Tony. Car kept shaking with a bashing sound from the truck. Tony was furious about Jessica breaking the anesthesia syringe.

Erica looked scared as she swooped in from the corner. She looked around and sighed. Jessica knew something was wrong and all three were ready to fight. Suddenly something fell on top of the car. It was Roy, badly hurt. His high speed reduced his healing ability unlike Jessica's fast healing.

Everyone looked up and saw few dark figures approaching from the sky.
