Chapter 12

James whispered to Tony :” you got to go. I'll hold them back. “ Tony ignored him and stood behind him staring at the fourth guy. Reapers have two tentacles and this is the first time Tony saw four. Each one of them had scales on it. His whole body started to get covered by the scales and it really looked impenetrable. Tony got smashed from the left which threw him onto the spikes. James jumped forward, engaged with metal. Spikes tried to wrap his tentacles around Tony and crush him but Tony was  able to defend. He looked to James as he heard a loud scream. Metal was hung in the air without a head. The sight fueled Tony to rip of half the tentacles of spikes and spikes jumped back. Camouflage sneaked up on Tony from the back and cut him so he couldn't stand. Camouflage looked back as he heard James being torn down. Piece by piece, his body came off. Hands torn off, knee shattered , rib-cage broken and half his jaw missing. Final blow into his chest, ripping James into two. Camouflage looked back at Tony with a smile but his smile turned sour. Tony's incredible healing already cured half his wounds and he pushed in both tentacles through camouflage’s stomach and kept piercing till he took his last breath. He jumped over spikes tearing open his throat , chest and stomach, pulling out everything. He stood up and looked at the fourth.

“What did you give him, you bastard?” Jessica screamed as she stuck Rob to the wall. Reyes pulled Jessica back :” Relax, it won't kill him. Just wait for two minutes. “ He turned to Rob :” How and where did you get this? “ Rob turned to his computer and opened an email. It said that he was supposed to collect a test tube from the park and replicate it. It also said this was the last serum. Reyes was shocked to see this but more shocked to know that they were fighting each other for nothing. Rob turned back to Jessica. He explained the contents of the serum and made sure it wouldn't make any harm. He replicated three, injecting the first to himself just to be sure, second on Roy and Reyes holding the third. It took him an hour to make two therefore within few hours, there will be enough for everyone.

Roy's condition stabilized as they spoke. His wounds started to heal and within minutes he opened his eyes. He sat up with a glow. He felt his body upgrading itself, the power, the mutation was mind-blowing. Reyes dialed someone but he didn't answer. “We have to stop them” Reyes screamed “we both are working for the same people. Before they all kill each other, we should find them.” He jumped on to Rob's computer and started typing codes but this time he was tracking down the fourth guy's cell. Jessica thought to herself that she hopes they make it in time as they drove through the alley.

Tony dashed towards him, dodged his attacks as he slid under when fourth appeared behind, cutting off one of the four tentacles. Tony felt his throat getting wrapped like a snake eating his prey slowly. He couldn't move his tentacles, his whole body was coiled and crushed. He could feel his life force slipping away when he saw a headlight of a car.

Reyes pulled the fourth guy back while Roy helped Tony. If they were a minute late, Tony would have died. His body started to heal but he lost consciousness. They brought him back to the room. The fourth guy came forward and apologized. Both of them lost their loved ones. He introduced himself to everyone :” I'm Roger, I've been assigned to keep Reyes safe. Therefore when you attacked I didn't have any choice. I'm sorry for your loss, even I lost five of my team.”

Jessica apologized back and agreed to work together for the best interest. Their common enemy should be destroyed and they were willing to take any risk to achieve it. Rob prepared few more sera as they got back and everyone injected themselves. He also made two extra just in case. Reyes stood up, startled everyone and screamed :” we got to go back. It's not here. The hard disk. I need it. It's the most valuable asset and it could destroy their empire. “ Nobody said a word. Night guards must have found that hideout by now and it was too risky.
