Malibu beach water shined in the morning sun. Through the curtains, the sunlight had a beautiful way of lighting up the room. Rob sat up in his bed with a yawn and turned on the TV to start his routine. The news channel was on showing the highlights of worldwide events on BBC. Rob turned the volume up and walked to the bathroom. Washing his face, imagining how his day will turn out he recalled his words to the CEO from the other day : “ We are almost at a breakthrough. Our project has never seen such progress before discovering the stability of kryptonite. It's funny whoever named that element must be a Superman fan. Tests on subject 75 was incredible but with one drawback. “ He sighed and looked at the mirror. This cannot ruin my success, he justified himself. Suddenly a thought came to his mind, it's his mother's birthday. He always used to visit her on her birthday and spend time with her but this year was going to be different. Cancer is a cruel bitch. Almost an year ago his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Doctor said it was too late to do anything.

Clearing his mind, he hurried to get ready for work. The elevator seemed to be taking a long time to reach. He checked his phone for messages and found missed calls his colleagues. His phone was on silent. He tried to call back as the elevator opened up. He got in while the phone was still ringing. Sombody picked up and was screaming gibberish. “ …. wrong …. But …. Come….” He heard two beeps and checked the phone. Signal lost. “Just great” he sighed.

The phone showed more incoming calls but Rob ignored the calls and rammed his leg on the fuel. Car rushed forward and reached a traffic signal. There was a long line of cars waiting in the bustle of the day so he tried to connect the phone to the car and called back. Signal turned green and cars crawled through the heavy traffic. One of his colleagues picked up. Rob interfered before he could speak :” calm down. Tell what happened slowly. I was in the elevator so I couldn't hear a word.” He listened carefully as his colleague explained the situation : subject 75 has gone through some physical changes. It appears O2-S0S has some different kind of effect other than what we imagined. There is no aggressive behavior but it seems to be staring at me motionless. You should come down here as quickly as possible.”

HBC headquarters with its large employee number lacked a good parking facility. Even though he has a PhD in biochemistry and two doctorate in chemistry, Rob turned out to be the worst driver ever. He found it very difficult to park his car in the extreme corner. There will always be an SUV parked next to it and he takes a minimum 15 mins to adjust his car into the slot.

He went into the building, Biometric scan confirmed him to be Dr Rob Ford. He entered his office with a smile as usual, greeting the receptionist and his secretary. He Walked into the lab where a few more security protocols awaited him. Bio hazard suit, fingerprint scanners and voice commands were all done. Everyone found it difficult to walk around with Bio hazard suit but Rob always found it lighting his mood like a Sunday morning coffee. He turned his eyes towards the colleagues who took him to subject 75.

This was not what he expected from what he heard on phone. He imagined something like a deformed bone structure or swollen flesh but this made him speechless.
