Chapter 13

Sun set with a crimson red shade in the sky. Streets looked frightening with the long shadows cast by yellow street lights. Tony could smell the rotting flesh next to the garbage box. They moved cautiously and made sure the retrieval expedition doesn't turn into a murder night. Reyes followed Roger, down the alley back to the house. It looked just the way they left and Roy started to move around the house checking other rooms, just to be sure. Reyes had only one thing in mind, the hard disk and he went directly towards the end of the hall where he stood last time.

Few hours before Reyes was kidnapped, a man sat in the bed with a woman by his side. She sat up, kissed his neck and spoke: “ Going against them will get us killed. We need to do something and you better figure out a plan ‘coz I ain't dying in this shithole. “

On the Rooftop, there was a man sitting with binoculars watching Reyes being followed by Tony. Reyes walked into his apartment, Tony stumbled upon a guard and the man on the rooftop feed.

The man got back to the woman and started to speak softly. He explained his plan while her hands ran all over his body. He pushes her hand off when he saw rob walk in with a book, from the next room. He noticed Rob completely immersed in his book. He moved his hands to the thighs. His heart skipped a beat as Tony walked in from his side.

James screamed: “ Erica, go. Warn the others. “ As Erica jumped off the window, two followed her. Roy had no other choice but to improvise. He always had incredible observation skills and and to top it off could think of a devious plan quicker than anyone. Reyes is a hacker, therefore the hard disk might have some valuable information which can be used for his advantage. He jumped out of the window following the two men behind Erica just after snatching the hard disk.

Reyes shouted as he looked around trying to find the disk :” Where is it? This is all because of you people. Where the fuck is it? I need the disk. This is all your fault. Within next five hours, if I don't get the disk, every one of you will be dead. Roger, start with that guy who took me. “

Rob stood in the side, looked at Jessica, disturbing thoughts ran past him. He asked Tony: “Where is Roy?” Tony didn't care to answer and Jessica replied instead :” He went to the other room. Now that you mention, where is Erica? Wasn't she there with us when we left?” Tony looked around, his face turned more red and fierce every minute. He jumps out of the window, climbing his way to the roof.

Jessica turned to Roger:” We need to find them before Tony does otherwise there won't be anything left of them. Also we have to get the hard disk before any other reaper gets it. More like before any guard gets it. “

Everyone jumped off the building and gathered above the rooftop. Reyes moved south after seeing the freshly scattered bricks, broken on the south side wall. Jessica moved east, back to their house and Roger, south. It didn't take much time for Jessica to find Erica since she had very high senses. James used to call her a hound for that reason. Erica was waiting for Roy to show up but Jessica's approach unleashed fear in her as she thought Roy must have been killed.

Reyes caught up with Tony but was too late. Tony was covered in blood which for a second Reyes thought was Roy's but as Tony fell back on the ground with a huge hole in his chest, Reyes knew things are going to get nasty.
