2:18 pm

Fuck. I have less than an hour to prepare.

After rushing to the bathroom and taking a bath, I went to check my closet for what I'm going to wear. I pick out a neon pink bikini and wear a floral dress, with a few cutouts on the back, over it. I hope Luke will like what I'm wearing.

In less than 5 minutes my mom started calling me from down stairs.

I'm assuming Luke's already here to pick me up.

I saw Luke smiling, half way through the stairs.

"Hey! Are you ready?" He asks.

"Yup. Mom, we're leaving now!" I shouted.

"Okay. I love you. Stay safe, you guys!" She replied.

"Love you too."

"Thank you, Mrs. Cruz." Luke says as we leave the house.

He opened the car door for me then I got in.

The car ride didn't involve a lot of talking. Luke asked me a few questions at times but I kept on giving answers with only 3 words at most. I couldn't think of anything else to say.

Thanks to the radio, the silence wasn't awkward at all. We sang and danced to the usual songs they play.

I was surprised that Luke knew all the words to songs like Confident by Justin Bieber and Drunk in Love by Beyonce. I thought he was too punk rock for those.

"Here we are." Luke says, putting both his hands up.

I look through the window and see a breath taking view of the beach. I noticed how few the people were but then quickly remember that I'm with Luke fucking Hemmings. We can't go to a normal beach unless we want to have people constantly wanting to have a photo with him. Not that I think he'd mind meeting fans but i think he really wanted to spend alone time with me and I appreciate that.

Luke brought out a picnic basket filled with food and set the picnic mat on the shore. I guess he wasn't kidding last night.

"I hope you like sandwiches and apple juice cause that's all I brought." He said, while putting the food out on the mat.

"I love apple juice!"

"OMG. I totes love apples juice too! We are so meant to be!" Luke mockingly said.

It made me laugh so hard that I accidentally spit out the juice on his face. Great job, Stacey.

"I'm so, so sorry." I say while wiping the juice off of his face.

He suddenly grabbed my wrist and stopped me, saying, "No, it's alright. Thank you." He smiled at me then adorably licked the remaining juice near his lips.

We talked about a lot of things but mostly about how his band became famous and his life before it. I was fascinated by how they blew up in such a short period of time. He told me about his family and how much he misses them, especially his mom. I told him things about the Philippines and my own family. I didn't really have anything much going for me but he still seemed interested in my stories. And even though our lives are complete opposites, I'm a nobody while he's living the dream, he didn't make me feel like I was lesser than him.

It was getting late and the stars were starting to appear. We lied on the mat and just stared at the sky. We stayed silent for a few minutes.

My eyes well up because I'm so overwhelmed by everything that I've experienced today. The picnic, the beach, the sunset, being here with Luke, talking about sensible things, laughing about the stupidest ones, and now the night sky.

"You know, this is actually the first date that I've been to." Luke says, still staring at the sky.

"Are you serious?" I turn to him kind of shocked.

"I swear, I am." He says, looking at me in the eyes.

"I was never really into girls when I was younger. To me, it was music above all. Even above my family. I rarely got to bond with them because I was so busy working on my craft that I forgot about everything else. Ash, Callum and Michael were literally the only friends I had. Until my mom finally decide to talk to me one time, before we left for our first trip to the U. S. She opened up to me and told me that she was afraid I might completely forget about my relationship with them, after pursuing music. I love my mom and my family. So I set my priorities straight, became happier."

"You're so lucky to have figured your life out at this point in your life." I reply.

"Well, I don't agree that I've figured my life out yet. There are so much more uncertainties that I have ahead of me but I can say that I'm happy."

I don't exactly know what to reply because there are some things that I don't understand and I can't relate to but I know that it was coming from his heart when he said that he was happy.

"You deserve it." I smile.

I notice his eyes examining my face then slowing down on my lips, like he's thinking of kissing me. I don't move for a few seconds, pretending that I can't see what he's doing. But he doesn't kiss me. Instead, he turns his head back, facing the sky.

"It's getting late, I should take you home."
