It was 7'oclock and I just finished dressing up for the date. The blind date.
A few of my friends were left to help me prepare. They did my hair, my make up, everything.
"Are you nervous?" Asked Caitlyn. She was curling my hair.
"Well... Not really. I trust you guys and I just wanna have fun tonight, no matter who you set me up with." I said, touching my curls.
"That's the spirit!!!" Sophie cheered.
My friends really are the best. I'm so grateful for having them. They're the type of friends who genuinely care for you and want you to be happy. I remember when we were 14 and Sophie broke up with her first boyfriend, we all came to her house with pizza, movies, and ice cream at 3:30 am, right after we found out. She was so shocked when she opened the door she started to cry really hard, as if her swollen eyes still had tears to shed. That was pretty much the start of it all. If I were to give you more proof of how amazing my friends are, I would have to go on for days.
Finally, it was time for me to leave. They made me wear a blindfold during the trip. It made me feel like I'm being kidnapped.
"Since we don't want it to be called a blind date for no reason, we decided to take it literally and have you wear this blind fold during the date!"
"You're fucking kidding me." I raised my eyebrow.
"What happened to having fun no matter what, Stacey?" Sophie mocked.
"Fine." I pouted. Caitlyn hugged me and said, "Just kidding, Stace. Of course we're not doing that to you."
"But for real though, wear the blind fold please. We'll tell you when you can take it off."
The trip lasted for about 30 minutes until I felt the car stop. They didn't let me take the blindfold off yet so they were assisting me as I went down the car and walked to a room that smelled like roses. Typical.
"Have fun." Someone whispered in my ear as she let go of my arm.
I stood still for a minute until I felt someone behind me, trying to take off the blind fold. His smell is faintly familiar. Was he one of my former classmates? Or maybe some guy in my neighborhood?
Before completely taking the blind fold off, he suddenly hugged me from the back. His head laid down on mine. Well this hug is damn familiar. I didn't even have to force my mind into thinking of who it was. I knew who he was right away.
I turned around to see Luke's face. I froze. And it seemed like he did too. We stared at each other for a good 2 minutes. Should I be mad? Should I say sorry? Before I could even think of what to do next, he budged and hugged me again. I hugged back even harder.
"I love you." I said to him.
