On a fine Monday evening, Hakyeon found himself not doing anything as he sat at home and surfing the internet. Most of the members were not at home like usual since Taekwoon was out with the cast from his musical, Wonshik was accompanying Ongdongie at his private studio and both Jaehwan and Hyuk went out together for dinner.
Why didn't anyone invite the lonely leader out? Was he really that irrelevant when it comes to hanging out? Aside from their group activities, none of the members ever asks Hakyeon to go anywhere with them unless Hakyeon pester them to do so. They get annoyed of course but they also end up having no choice since Hakyeon can be quite persistent at times. How can you blame him though? He's lonely and wanted company from his beloved members.
Just as he was scrolling around Naver to see what was on the top trends, he noticed an ad on the side bar for 'Midnight Runners', the new movie that was premiering that night. Hakyeon got a bit curious after watching the trailer and reading the sypnosis for the movie, so he got up from his chair and went through his closet to get changed. Since it was almost quite a last minute plan and totally unintended, he simply dug out one of his million of black T-shirts and jeans to go out.
As Hakyeon opened the door and getting ready to head off, Hongbin opened his door at the same time and suddenly surprised Hakyeon.
"Hyung?" Hongbin was just as startled.
"Oh, Kong-ah. You were here? I thought everyone went out already," Hakyeon said.
"Uh, no. I was at home the entire time."
"Oh."
"Oh..."
Suddenly, there was an awkward silence between the two of them since neither was expecting to see the other and even though their rooms were right next to each other's, they were completely unaware that they weren't the only ones at home.
I wonder if Kong has anything to do, Hakyeon thought to himself as he stared at the younger. Should I ask him to go to the movies with me? What if he rejects me?
"Um," Hakyeon decided to give it a shot.
"Uh," Hongbin said at the same time, seemingly having something to say to Hakyeon.
"You first."
"No, it's okay. You can go first."
"No, no, you can go first," Hakyeon insisted.
Both of them were getting more and more awkward with the situation.
"Do you want to go to the movies with me tonight?" Both Hongbin and Hakyeon said exactly at the same time.
"W-what?" Hakyeon thought he heard wrong.
"Did you just ask me out to a movie?" Hongbin thought the same.
"You asked me too right?"
Hongbin nodded.
Somehow, the awkwardness turned into a happy chuckle between the two of them as they thought about the same thing.
"I thought you would never ask me. So, what movie?" Hakyeon smiled at the younger.
"I got invited to the VIP Premier of Midnight Runners tonight and they said I can bring someone with me, so I was wondering if you want to go," Hongbin told him.
"Seriously? I was just thinking about attending the premier for that movie too. But I'm not as important as you to get a VIP ..." Hakyeon sighed.
"You're important hyung. I just happen to know someone who worked for the movie. So do you want to go with me?"
"Can I?"
"Of course!" Hongbin smiled brightly that his dimple were showing. The younger was more than happy to attend the movies with Hakyeon, it was just Hakyeon being insecured about his own importance within the group that made him so pessimistic at times.
The two of them sat comfortably next to each other during the movie and were both completely immersed with the plot. They laughed together, cried together and enjoyed every minute of the movie as they enjoyed every minute they had with each other. After the movie was over, the two of them sat down a bit longer to wait for every other guests to leave first.
As they waited, Hakyeon took his cellphone out.
"Let's take a selfie to commemorate this night," Hakyeon said.
"Do we really have to? Isn't it enough?" Hongbin isn't quite a fan of selfies.
"But~" Hakyeon pouted and whined a bit as he linked his arms around Hongbin's. "Please? For my Instagram diary."
Hongbin let out a sigh of defeat.
"Go ahead."
The two took a simple photo together and Hakyeon uploaded it onto his social media immediately.

Both of them finally got out of the venue and was heading back to the dorms. But as they walked down their neighborhood, Hongbin grabbed Hakyeon's hands.
"Hmm?" Hakyeon looked at Hongbin to see what the younger was up to.
"Can we just hang out a little more? It's still early," he said.
"But it's getting late. It's kind of past my bedtime," Hakyeon joked.
"But hyung," it was Hongbin's turn to whine a bit. "Don't you like hanging out with me?"
"Of course I do. Why do you even need to ask? Plus, it's you who always rejects me whenever I ask to go out together."
"That's because you always ask the others first."
"I do?"
"You mean you don't realize it?"
Hakyeon shook his head, completely unaware of it.
Hongbin gave out a deep sigh.
"Stop looking for others when you obviously have me next to you. Even my room is right next door to yours and it's never locked so you can always come in."
"I can?"
"Mhmm." Hongbin decided to give Hakyeon a hug of reassurance.
Usually, the younger doesn't like skinship with others much but Hakyeon was an exception. He would do anything for the older and follow him forever. 'So, don't go asking others for date when you have me already okay?"
"Pfft. You said date," Hakyeon giggled happily.
"Yes, I said date. Because everywhere we go from now on together, the times we spent with each other will be a date."
