"Here's where she meets Prince Charming, but she won't discover that it's him 'til chapter three!" - Belle, Beauty and the Beast
***
Once upon a time, in small town on the outskirts of Chicago, there lived a young woman named Luciana. She was a known in the town for her sweet nature and love for books. And her love for books got her into an English Literature program at the University of Chicago.
"For tomorrow, I want everyone to tell me what their favourite romantic tragedy is. Have a good evening, everyone!"
Romantic Literature class was Luciana's favourite part of her school day. She was a bookworm, everyone who knew her knew that. She always had her nose stuck in a book and was absolutely oblivious to what was going on around her. It was almost like she lived under a rock, like Patrick Star.
Aside from all that, she was extremely beautiful. She had sun-kissed skin and long, jet-black hair. Her eyes were the shade of emeralds and her lips were light pink and full. She was a vision.
And the boys at her school took full notice. After all, which guy could resist a gorgeous girl in his presence?
However, there was only one guy that had the pleasure of knowing this gem. Only one guy who had the pleasure of calling her his best friend. And it happened to be one of the few boys that wouldn't make a move on her...if you know what we mean.
"¡Oi, chica!"
Luciana practically jumped out of her skin. She hadn't been paying attention when she was walking towards her car.
"Alex, you scared me! Don't do that!" Alex laughed as she slapped his chest, sending him a playful glare which made him laugh even more.
"Sorry, chica, sorry. Hey, so how'd you do on that bio quiz? It was terrible!" Alex asked as he opened the door to Luciana's car and hopped in. Luciana laughed and sat into the driver's seat.
"I thought it was pretty okay. I mean, after this semester, we never have to see the word 'photosynthesis' again. Relax, güey," she said patting his head. He swatted her hand away and turned on the radio and started singing along.
"Si el ritmo te lleva a mover la cabeza ya empezamos como es-"
"Stop, you're giving me a headache with your horrendous excuse for a voice!"
"You're just jealous that my Spanish is better than yours!" Luciana rolled her eyes then abruptly stepped on the brakes. There was a small crash that could be heard after the car came to a stop. She and Alex jolted forward then Alex looked in front of the car. They both gasped.
There was a shiny black Cadillac with an ever-so-tiny dent in the bumper parked in front of them.
"¡Qué mierda! Who parks in the middle of the fucking road?" Alex exclaimed moving hair out of his face. Luciana was about to step out of the car when the driver's door swung open with a strong force. As the person got out, Luciana looked more to the side to get a better look at who it could be. When the person turned around, she thought her heart stopped.
There, less than a meter away, stood Luca García, the town's most feared - and hottest - resident. He was a very built individual, with broad shoulders and bulging biceps. He had tattoos canvasing his arms and jet black hair to pull the whole look together.
