the first time you meet

you were at the arcade alone, seeing as your best friend hated video games. you were currently playing dragon's lair, trying to beat the top score. you kept getting close, but dying about two points off.

"this stupid game is rigged!" you cried out, your hands flinging up off of the game. a snicker cane from behind you as you whipped around. a dark skinned boy with a camouflage bandana stood behind you, keeling over with laughter.

"what?" you asked, annoyed.

"i've seen you here everyday since school ended, and you still haven't saved the princess?" the boy retorted, and you crossed your arms across your chest. "jeez."

"i'd like to see you try." you snarled.

"oh, i'm very bad at dragon's lair. but my friend dustin, that his score you're looking at." you turned around to reveal the score that you'd been cursing since the first day you had came to the arcade. "dustin henderson. your arch nemesis."

"curses."

"i'm lucas," he stuck out his hand. you stared at it, your arms still crossed.

"(y/n)."

"well, (y/n), at least i admit to being bad." lucas says and you scoff, turning back to the machine and sliding a quarter in.
