"When are we going to tell our parents?" Mike questioned as the two of you laid on the couch in his basement, his arm wrapped tightly around your shoulder as you rested your head on his chest. "We've been best friends since we were born. I feel like they'd be disappointed in us, or something."
"Mike, it's fine," you laughed, looking up at the stressed boy. "They probably won't care."
"I don't know, Y/N."
"If anything, I'm sure they'll be glad," you said. Mike cocked his head in confusion, causing you to elaborate. "I mean, they'll be glad that it's us. Like, I'm with you, and not some other kid. Because we know each other so well."
Mike shrugged and you laid your head back down. "I guess. I don't know."
You took Mike's hand and squeezed it tightly. "Plus, we're old enough now to make our own decisions, don't you think?" You felt Mike nod and you smiled to yourself as he held you in his arms.
"And, so what if they do care. I like you. A lot."
You looked up at Mike and smiled. You pushed yourself closer to him, wrapping your arms tightly around the boy as the two of you cuddled together on his couch. Most of your days together was spent like this, just holding each other.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
