Greyson's POV

It was a week after I had taken the gun out of my father's safe. My mother hadn't even noticed, not that she had been home anyway. She'd stopped in briefly to take some files out of her office but other than that I hadn't seen her. She was still avoiding me after my last episode in her office. Dr. Rowling must not have talked to her and told her the good news of how great I was supposedly doing because if she had she would be back at home pretending like she wasn't plotting to ruin my life and use me as a pawn for her publicity bullshit.

She had gotten Daniel's father fired from his job and his family was still struggling to make ends meet. Daniel was still constantly worrying about not being able to pay the bills and the inevitable fact that soon they would be forced to move. His mom was having a hard time finding work to support them. I kept trying to give Daniel money or offering to pay their bills for them but Daniel kept refusing my help. The plan I had come up with would fix everything. It would make sure that Daniel and his family would be well taken care of for the rest of their lives.

I was at school sitting in the last period of the day. Today was the day that we would have to go to Sunnyside Elementary School which also meant that I would have to see Chris. I hadn't seen him since I broke his nose in the janitor's closet after I had found out what he had done to Daniel. I didn't want to see his disgusting face ever again so I decided that I would skip it for the second time in a row. I knew that Daniel would want to go because of his grade and not wanting to disappoint our teacher Mr. Cocklyn. I was hesitant about Daniel going alone but also confident that Chris would be stupid to try anything on Daniel again.

The bell rang and the period ended, and I walked out into the hallway. I was looking for Daniel. I had something that I needed to give him.

I walked to his locker, searching the halls for him. Instead I found Amanda, the preppy looking blonde chick that lacked any type of filter also known as Daniel's partner in crime. It was like I could never find one without the other.

"You're not wearing sweatpants today." She said smirking.

"Well aren't you observant. Have you seen Daniel?"

"I'm waiting on him to take him to Sunnyside. And don't you even think about trying to steal him away to go bone him! You might have him dick-matized, but I have to make sure that my Dan Dan is doing well in school and not skipping his volunteer experience to have sex with you like last time." Amanda said glaring at me.

She was talking so loudly. People in the hallway were now staring at us. I loved Daniel, but his best friend really drove me nuts.

I sighed. "It's really none of your business whether Daniel and I are having sex. Anyways, can you give this to him?" I said holding out a letter that I had written to Daniel last night. This would help Daniel understand everything. The letter would help him understand why I had decided to go through with what I was planning to do tonight.

"Yeah sure." Amanda said realizing that I wasn't in much of a playful mood at the moment.

"Thanks Amanda. Can you also tell him that I'm sorry." I said beginning to walk towards the doors.

"Sorry for what?" Amanda called from behind me.

Thoughts of last week laying in my bed with Daniel's head on my chest after we had finally finished arguing about the shitty way that I was handling everything haunted me.

"It's not your fault. I get that depression is something that you have to deal with. Just promise me something?"

"Anything babe."

"Promise me you'll never leave me alone. Whenever you're feeling low just talk to me. I'm here for you."

"Okay. I promise. I'm not going anywhere."

I turned around and looked at Amanda.

"For having to break our promise." I said then I turned back around and walked out of the door.
