Greyson POV
I drove home feeling relieved and angry all at the same time. I was relieved that Daniel and I weren't completely over. There was still hope, and I would do anything to fix the problem with his parents. The last thing I was going to do was let them become homeless because of something my mother was doing out of spite.
I had a savings account with over 100 grand inside of it. I would give every penny to make sure Daniel's family stayed afloat. On the other hand I was painstakingly angry at what Chris had done. Every single detail of what Daniel had revealed to me played over and over again in my mind. I was clutching the wheel until my knuckles turned white.
I got out of the car and slammed the door shut. It was official. I wasn't going to give Daniel up. I had to take action or else I would lose him for good.
I went back into the house and noticed that the bottle of Hennessy was still sitting on the kitchen table. I looked at it, remembering the swig I had took of it earlier. A cold chill ran down my spine. I wasn't exactly an alcoholic, but I was advised to stay away from alcohol seeing as it was a trigger to my attempted suicide last year.
I took a deep breath. I was doing fine without the pills and I would get Daniel back no matter what it took. I had everything under control. I took another swig from the bottle and let the brown bitter liquid warm up my insides. I felt a little better than I did earlier, and I smiled to myself at being so in control. I put the top back on the bottle and put it back in the cabinet. I could drink without losing control. I could do this. Everything was fine. I would begin fixing everything starting tomorrow.

The next day I woke up in the morning determined to talk to my mother about what was going on with Daniel. I'd already warned her about going after people that I care about. I refused for Daniel to become the new Sarah. Daniel was simply someone I did not want to lose.
I strode to her office door determined to let her know that two could play her game. I'd make it my personal agenda to destroy her entire reputation by revealing to the press that I was gay. I would reveal our family issues to the media. I would shatter everything she worked to build. Every secret she tried to hide would be revealed. I'd be throwing myself into the cross hairs and destroying my family name, but if it meant saving Daniel it was worth the risk.
I pulled the door knob to the office prepared to barge and catch her off guard but the door was locked. She wasn't there. She must have gone to work early, being the owner of a major fashion company kept her busy. Just not busy enough to stay out of my life.
I checked the time and I was running late for school. I had to get to school to see Daniel. After last night he probably wanted me by his side. I walked away from her door. This wasn't over.
I grabbed my bag and started walking out the door when something in my mind told me to stop. I looked towards the kitchen cabinet. I would have a long day and I would need something to take the edge off so that I could stay calm.
I opened the cabinet and saw my mother's cherry vodka. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, pouring the water down the drain, and refilled the bottle with the vodka. This would help take the edge off. I took a long sip and it felt comforting as the clear liquid burned the back of my throat. I put the bottle in my backpack and walked out of the door.
Daniel was already in his seat with his head down on the desk. I took my seat next to him. "Are you okay?" I asked while rubbing his back.
Daniel looked at me with red rimmed eyes. He had clearly been crying. "My mom is talking about selling the house. Since my Dad doesn't have a job we can't afford the mortgage. I might be moving."
