Chapter Six
"Are you okay?" Somebody asked me. I pulled my hand away from my ears. My eyes were wide open in shock.
"What happened?" The same person asked me. He shook my right hand slightly.
"Are you hurt?" The person again asked. I felt my heart rate get back to normal. I opened my mouth to take a big gulp of air in. My body was slowly calming down from the shock. His voice was still very clear in my head. I remembered everything he said.
"I will come for you Ashley. Wait and see," the voice haunts inside my head, "I will come for you Ashley. Wait and see. I will," the voice kept on saying me. His voice got deeper and deeper by the minute.
Again fear spread through my body, but before I started to have another panic attack I feel myself being hugged from behind.
"Are you okay?" a familiar voice asked me. I felt something inside me trigger. The person tightened his arms around my waist supporting my body. He kept still for some time.
I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. After a while my heartbeat started to calm down. Some more seconds passed and my heartbeat was beating at its normal pace. I could still feel the fear but I chose to ignore it.
"Hey, come on. Let's take you to your room," Leon said to me as his arms around my waist freed themselves. He put his arm on my back and gave it a slight push.
I started to walk towards the party but Leon pulled me to another direction. I raised my right eyebrow questionably.
"I don't think you want to go that way," Leon said as he pulled my arm, which made me stumble forward in surprise. I turned my head back towards him and glared.
"What?" Leon asked me.
"Nothing."
"Come on, tell me. Did I pull your arm too hard?"
"No."
"Then what?" Leon asked still completely confused.
"I told you nothing," I said to him, walking in sync with him.
"So why didn't we go the shorter way?"
"Who said that was the shorter way?"
"Well, I assumed since everybody was going that way."
"Everybody huh," Leon said chuckling to himself. The air around us suddenly became tense. Both of didn't say a word. No sound could be heard except the sound of our feet crushing against the fallen leaves from the trees at the border of the forest.
"I probably ruined everyone's night," I said breaking the silence.
"No your not," Leon said looking over at me.
"Oh come on I ruined your night. You could be with your friends having a good time. What are you still doing here? You could tell me the way and you could go back to the party. I know you are my roommate but you don't need to do this, seriously," I said to him. I wiped the tears that had fallen down my face.
"I'm not that bad of a person you know, and you did not ruin my night. Even if you did ruin my night I offered to help remember, so it was my fault for offering," Leon said to me. The corner of his mouth turning up into a small smile.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?" he asked me in fake confusion.
"Why are you so nice to me?"
"Well when I was small my mom used to tell me to always help others," he said laughing.
"You know that's the first time I have heard you laughing," I said, laughing with him.
