Early update since I got this chapter around extra early. I was just on a twelve hour flight to Ireland. IT'S SO GREAT TO BE BACK HOME!

Domestic violence/child abuse warning

"(Y/n)" your father's echoing voice called out for you from another part of your home. You already could tell that he didn't mean well, the tone of his voice screamed anger and disappointment. But you took it lightly, thinking that you must have accidentally forgotten a small petty chore. Such as taking off your sandals or leaving your toys in the hallway again.

Startled from his sudden call. Your stuffed animals, all aligned in a row for your cute little tea party. Real tea to be more specific. As some scalding tea accidentally spilled onto your thigh and play table from getting scared. Giving out a small pained cry, setting down your tea pot in a small crash. Lucky to not break it in the process.

"C-can you please come here daddy? I b-burned myself" you found it hard to move, hugging your stuffed tiger for comfort.

"NO! Come here NOW!" He snapped in pure rage. A teardrop of fear escaped your (e/c) eye.

"Daddy is upset..." You whimpered to your stuffed tiger. Hugging him close to your chest as you limped out of your small room. Confronting your angered father and upset mother.

"Awe baby... Let me take care of you" Mother immediately fetched her white tin of medical supplies. The red burn on your pale legs stood out from miles. Father frowned, threatening to throw your mother across the room with a swing of his fist. But let her fix up your burns before catching your attention once more.

Your towering father turned around to dig for an object in a cupboard. "(Y/n)" Father began, "why was this sword in your room?" He pulled out a cream colored wooden sword just one second later. Dirty white tape at the handle, RZ engraved onto the butt of the sword. Your (e/c) eyes widened in fear as he did in fact have the sword Zoro gifted you just one week ago.

"Its my friend's" you tried with all your might to sound innocent, your father could hear the lie as he bent down. Shooting daggers into your soul.

"I will not repeat, why do you have a sword?" You bit your lip trying to stifle a cry.

"I'm not lying daddy, me and my friends were playing Pirates and they gave me this. You can ask them yourself" your heart was beating a mile a second. That's all you could hear. Scared for dear life, hoping just hoping he'd buy your lie.

"You think you can hide those bruises all over your body?" He hissed, ripping your kimono to show off your purple bruises scattered all over your arms and chest. Gained from your sword lessons with Zoro. You gasped covering yourself up with whatever pieces of your tattered kimono you had left. Scooting away in an attempt to run away before he in return, snatched your arm dragging you back.

"Who's the kid teaching you?" Your mouth moved but no words came out. "Answer me!"

"Z-zoro... Roronoa Zoro..." You erupted into tears, breathlessly crying. Snot ran out of your nose with force and you couldn't care.

"That green haired idiot!?" You nodded vigorously to avoid harm. "I'll be back, I don't want to see you step out of this house without me or your mother ever again" and just like that, your father stomped out with seething rage. Slamming the front door shut with such force you could hear the wood splinter.

"Mommy... W-why does dad get mad at me?"

"I don't know honey" your mother knelt down, using her sleeve to wipe the snot and tears streaming down your puffy pink face. Carried your crying figure to your small bedroom. Sitting you up on the bed, helping you into another change of clothes. Holding onto the shreds of your last kimono. "This won't go to waste. I promise"

"Why can't girls do what guys can?" Your sudden question made your mother freeze as she was just about to exit the room.

"Again... I don't know"

"Do you care if I became a swordswoman like Kuina?"

"Honey" your mother stroked your hair gently. "I believe you can do much better than Kuina" a faint smile formed upon your face.

"I want to be the best like Zoro..."

"Too bad your father doesn't agree"

Smack!

Your sword at hand, used against it's original owner. The strength of a monster behind it. Your best friend felt the wrath of the man who you found it difficult to call your own father. "Who the hell do you think you are?" The monster hissed, throwing your sword at Zoro's struggling figure. Holding his head, trying to force the pain to subside.

"I should be asking you the same thing" Zoro growled back with equivalent rage. Blood trickled down his face slowly leaving a train of crimson behind.

"Keep away from my daughter, you hear me?" (Y/n)'s father... No wonder why she's so insecure and can withstand any pain thrown her way.

"Me? What about you? What man beats up a kid?" Zoro stood his ground, not showing any signs of fears. Fighting on your behalf.

"Just keep away from my daughter or else I won't hesitate to kill you" bystanders began to get drawn in. Listening in not so discreetly.

I've never felt the need to kill someone more than him. "Shut the hell up!" Zoro pulled out his real swords. Black blades and midnight black and gold handle to match. "(Y/n) doesn't deserve the bullshit you put her through. No girl should be afraid to follow her dreams!" Zoro stepped forward a few steps. The tip of his blade touching your father's chest. "(Y/n) was so shy it hurt. She rarely smiles, I'm more than sure you're the reason behind that."

"So? I suggest you take my warnings to heart before it costs you" your father smirked, strolling away as if he just won the war.

"And I thought Kuina had it hard..." Zoro admits in defeat. What if I were to ignore him? Would I be costing (Y/n) her life as well?

I intended this dip in the story, hope I didn't scare any of you away with the abusive dad.
