Happy Birthday Zoro.
Here's an early chapter for his birthday.

10 Years Later

Zoro: Age 18
You: Age 17

"Zoro we told you to keep away from (Y/n)," your father hissed. Raising a scarred fist to your strong faithful friend who kept your life bright.

Zoro chuckled just slightly, finishing off with his iconic devilish smirk. "Your daughter has been sneaking out for how long and you haven't figured it out?" Zoro continued to smirk loving the betrayed expression on your father's face. "Besides this is the last time she'll ever see me," Zoro finished with a sigh, resting a hand on his prized sword attached to his hip.

"Fine... Carry on and don't be long"

"Don't worry" Zoro went ahead to entering your home. Your father kept a close weary eye on him as he proceeded to your bedroom. Slipping into your room unnoticed. You were busy packing up some of your belongings into a small off-the-shoulder bag. Occasionally taking stuff out to rearrange to make more room. "About ready?" Zoro asked, leaning up against the wall. Arms crossed.

"Just about done" you replied hurriedly. Shoving the last of your things into the bag with force. "Aaaaaaand Finished" you pulled on the zipper, closing up your stuffed bag nearly popping for the seams. Zoro stepped forward, closing it for you after watching you struggle for a good minute.

"Now you're ready" You reached out to take the bag from his hands, but Zoro took your bag instead and slung it over his shoulder. That being so unexpected, you leaned against the wall grinning softly.

"We're actually leaving" the feeling felt so out of place. You were finally making a huge life decision on your own. Branching off from your controlling father into starting your new life with your childhood friend.

"Shouldn't you be happy? This means freedom," Zoro shot a glare in your direction. He could tell that you were having second thoughts knowing you too well.

"Zoro," you held his hand loosely. "We've been training together to become the best swordsmen in the world for ten years now. Ten years. Now we're leaving to make our dream a reality" it still felt like a dream in itself. All you had to do, was leave your home and village.

"Oh I see," Zoro finally tightened on his grip, holding your hand firmly in return. "I understand. Its the shock of our dream coming true."

"Exactly..."

"So let's get out of here. No sense in delaying the inevitable" Stepping before Zoro. Cupping his cheeks, pulling him into a light kiss full of gratitude to have him there for you. Before smiling softly to Zoro's slightly pink and burning face. As did yours as it was your first kiss, probably his as well.

"Lets get going before my dad notices," you brushed off the kiss. Leaving it for Zoro to comprehend on his own.

"Notices what?" Zoro laughed slightly to himself in awkwardness.

"That I ran away with you. The man he hates most." you whispered to Zoro. Knowing your overprotective yet abusive father was on the other side of your paper door.

"You're an adult. You're technically not running away" oh yes I am Zoro.

"Is it so wrong that I want to give him a heart attack?" Cause he should die...

"Fair enough" Zoro whispered back, guiding you out the window to avoid your father all together. He doesn't deserve your goodbye. Nor does he deserve you.

You and Zoro left the village without a word. Only the sensei of the small village had any clue as to what your intentions were. In fact he stood at the main entrance, bidding you both farewell. Proud to watch two of the best swordsmen he has ever seen, walk away with their heads held high.
